Wow...just wow. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever seen anyone seriously affected by pain medication? My father was taking medication similar to this a number of years back. He has since passed away but my mother and I still laugh over the ridiculous and 'out of character' things he said that night. Based upon that one experience, it is quite easy for me to believe TO's story (or at least not reject it out of hand).

I guess you believe that TO tried to commit suicide and failed or was just trying to attract attention to himself. I think TO is an attention hound and high strung, but the facts do not add up to either of the things I mentioned. I certainly am in no position to judge his mental state but everything we know seems to support his story more than anything else.

It's not even that complex. Ever say something drunk you either don't remember or was completely out of character?

Ask Mel Gibson.

Yeah, TO felt all the attention he was already getting wasn't enough so he decided to stage a suicide so he could get sympathy attention.

Genius.

:laugh2:

Exactly.

As if he has become so ignored by the media this year he just had to devise a new and foolproof way to get their attention again.

What came first? The media following T.O. around or a series of incidents causing T.O. to draw attention to himself? Think about that before you all start blaming the media. They ARE out of control but they did not in any way START the saga that is T.O.

Sorry, man, but it seems that your argument is "well, he STARTED it"...

The same excuse you used on your parents when you and your little brother got into a fight...

And my response will be the same as my Dad's was in that situation-- you're responsible for your own actions... and as you noted, they ARE out of control... what passes for "journalism" these days is a bleepin' JOKE...

Unresponsive people don't respond. The word you're looking for is delusional, yet no unbiased party made that accusation.

I don't know...My wife had a serious back injury requiring extensive surgery. After the surgery she was on fairly high doses of several pain killers - including hydracodone. Some combinations of meds left her pretty mentally altered. She said a lot of pretty funny and out of character things that she doesn't remember. It took a while for the doctors to find a combination that left her coherent.

Bottom line, I don't know if TO's explanation is the truth, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility.

There are two versions to choose from

1. TO took 35 pills was rushed to the hospital had his stomach pumped, was released and back at practice in less than 14 hours. After practice he dawned a red cape and saved babies from a burning orphanage

OR

2. He had a bad reaction to his medication his publicist freaked out, the paramedics asked him their scripted questions while he was dazed, he went to the hospital and it was found to be nothing serious he was released and went to practice later in the day

Now the question you have to ask yourself. Is TO really superman? Or did the media get it wrong
There's alot more to it then that, but in the grand scheme of things, most likely nothing major enough to warrent the media hurricane.

Watch the statements again, they're tip-toeing around something. I don't believe TO tried to commit suicide, even if he answered yes to those questions, I believe him when he said he was out of it. I also don't believe that his publicist called 911 because TO "wasn't in his normal responsive state" and "wasn't feeling well." I also saw his publicist stumble when asked about taking the pills out of TO's mouth.

Everyone has their own opinions since the facts are a bit skewed, I don't really believe the explanation given, nor do I believe he's a depressed suicidal loon; the answer's always somewhere in the middle.

Amusing story: After I had back surgery they had me hopped up on pain meds and I was really out of it. My wife and mother in law were by my bed when I was under meds and said I was really loopy. My wife told me afterwards that when a pretty nurse walked in the room I asked her if she was the head nurse cause I could really use one. I'm still paying for that one.

This whole back and forth thing is too much for my blonde brain. I'm taking a rest from it and waiting for the final story.

I do have two questions however... With this now being a he said she said with ESPN, the publicist, the general media (KFAA) and the police....

Did Dan Rather do it? And was the officer that wrote the report named Killian?

Sadly, I'm not sure that will ever come out and if it does, will we have any reason to believe it?

So now I'm a hater. Nice. I'd rather overstate the problem than wish it away like some people.

you're finding any and every reason you can to keep the conspriacy alive long after common sense has been put to bed. if it's not hate, then why? why can you not give TO the same "room to move" you and i want? why does his being TO make him suject to just lying about him and then blaming it on him?

TO's no saint, never said he was. but if it's wrong to make up something about someone, it's wrong to make it up even about those someone's we hate.

not liking someone does NOT force them to a new set of rules to live by.

thank you silver. regardless of TOs actions we're all still responsible for our own. the TO made me do it crowd is just re-********. one re just doesn't cover it. it's all childish and yea, i view TO like a child at times with his ID syndrome. but lying about someone is wrong.

not liking them doesn't make it right - ever. rights supercede people and that should never be mixed or swapped. now "benefit of doubt" - TO's been a lot of things but he's NEVER been known to have a drug problem yet - VERY 1ST CHANCE the haters can get their teeth into that rumor, he's an addict that needs help.

nothing added up to what we do know about to but far too many were willing to believe it right off the bat. when refuted, any excuse to keep the hate alive was born.

go figure.
