If you're unresponsive you don't give any answers. The fact that he gave answers suggests that he understood the questions. If there's one time to tell the truth, it's when you're in distress and your life is on the line--like his was.

What part of incoherent don't you understand?

That is not true...

If someone is under medication and unresponsive, his answers could be different if he was unresponsive and not under medication...so the questions would be different to him, maybe?

So, the fact that he gave answers, does not mean that he knew what he was saying at the time...

That is seriously the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Just by answering proved he understood? Drunks answer questions do they understand what they are being asked or what they are saying? Does someone who is having a bad reaction to medication and has already passed out understand everything being said? I want you to answer quit dodging my posts

Yes, I caaaaan answer you, what you wanna know.....:beer1: :drunk:

Seriously, even when you are in that state, the personnel on the scene will take you very seriously if you threaten suicide. They will hold you against your will if they have to for the 72 hour rule (24 in texas i think), over something you said when you were drunk or had taken pills.

Think about it, you could get to that state again (drunk or pilled up), and talk about suicide in that state, again.

So you might think that person doesn't understand, but anything he says is taken seriously.

Unresponsive people don't respond. The word you're looking for is delusional, yet no unbiased party made that accusation.

That's fine take it seriously ... they definately should have if that's what happened. But leak his incoherrant rambleings out to the press knowing full well what the media will do with that kind of information on TO?

... I smell an agenda.

Wrong about what? The police asked him questions, he gave incriminating answers, and now his damage-control flunkies are trying to blame it on "incoherence." My you're a trusting bunch.

First he was unresponsive then he was incoherrant (a word they did use). Why is that chain of events so hard for you to grasp as a very real possibility

and you're a hateful one. you're trying to make it sound like if someone is on medications they still have 100% coherancy.

you're again using anything you can to keep the hope alive TO screwed up.

Exactely...then why did he give those answers of "yes or yes or yes" if he could not speak? T.O. did today on his news conference, so he's not baised or unbaised...

He said he does not remember some things...and if you cannot remember then you do become delusional...right?

Oh...and he practiced with the team.

Oh yeah, I have a huge problem with the people around TO. Noone is there to protect him, seems like they are all out to get him. There should be some privacy with those ramblings, that is one of my biggest problems with this. We should be able to keep our personal issues, personal, and not have it in the newspaper every morning.

The agenda is simple, the media is out for itself, and not to have a positive affect on anything other than themselves.

Wow...just wow. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever seen anyone seriously affected by pain medication? My father was taking medication similar to this a number of years back. He has since passed away but my mother and I still laugh over the ridiculous and 'out of character' things he said that night. Based upon that one experience, it is quite easy for me to believe TO's story (or at least not reject it out of hand).

I guess you believe that TO tried to commit suicide and failed or was just trying to attract attention to himself. I think TO is an attention hound and high strung, but the facts do not add up to either of the things I mentioned. I certainly am in no position to judge his mental state but everything we know seems to support his story more than anything else.

This is the same police department who at their press conference said that the report was not released, and was leaked prematurely. The information on that report was not "official" (for lack of a better word). And no one, who sits on the side of T.O. tried to commit suicide, can reasonably answer as to why he was released from the hospital less than 24 hours after ingesting 35 pain pills, with no phsyciatric (sp?) evaluation.

So now I'm a hater. Nice. I'd rather overstate the problem than wish it away like some people.

Thats funny one of the main definitions for unresponsive is : aloof

Now lets define aloof shall we?

Aloof: Detatched. Having no need, desire, or much (if any) awareness of other people and social relationships.

Unresponsive does not only mean unable to communicate

Yeah, TO felt all the attention he was already getting wasn't enough so he decided to stage a suicide so he could get sympathy attention.

Genius.

I have finally read all the posts in this thread, and am going to give my 2 cents worth on the issue.

1. Keep in mind that ESPN didn't start the TO tried to kill himself bit, but they did pick it up and run with it.
2. While TO did start the "Circus" of media attention that he is given, he has done nothing but sign a contract with the Boys to keep it going. The arguement that he has brought this on himself holds no water to me. The media will not let anything this guy does go without blowing it up.
3. ESPN is creating a distraction to the Cowboys, not TO.
4. Ingested 35 pills, and was released from the hospital and practicing in less than 24 hours.....? RIGHT!!!!????
5.His PR girl denies telling the police that TO said he was depressed? (didn't see it mentioned here)
6. NFL network handled the story perfectly. The Deion Sanders piece was spot on....
7. ONe more for those who believe that he tried to kill himself. The story was reported last night that TO was in the hospital with an allergic reaction to pain medicine mixing with supplements, this morning he "tried to commit suicide", and now 24 hours later, he had an allergic reaction to pain medicine. My my my what a spin we have here. And only one non-reputable news outlet claims to have "seen the police report". Come on..... The Skins are gonna win the Super Bowl too right?

LOL... I've been in touch with that feeling all day long... you have no idea how weird it felt for me to be defending him...

Wait -ESPN made up the story? Didn't the Cops say TO tried to harm himself? and if this is all an attention job by TO - YES he is hurting the team.

That's right, Owens broke his hand deliberately, so that he could have an adverse reaction to pain meds...

It's called thinking, son; look into it...
