Twitter: Update: Gregory appeal hearing is going forward in NY today - Post #135

I don't recall the source but I thought the missed test was during Randy's rehab but he had also left the facility that day.

Source was BTB quoting an Archer article that didn't say this but:
To further confuse the situation, there are also reports that the test was missed, not failed. Gregory was already at a rehab center and may have left for the weekend, when the test was missed.

It's not really a conspiracy theory at all.

Remember when the Cowboys and Commanders got penalized for apparently violating cap rules in a year when there were no cap rules? It was Mara who pushed for the punishment and Goodell obliged. Don't you find it a bit odd that after the league has taken a hard stance on domestic punishment and sometimes overreacted for PR reasons, they just hand down a random one game suspension to Josh Brown?

I think you are naïve if you don't believe there are factions within the league office and even among owners that result in some favoritism being played at times.

I think the issue is that the NFL office is in NY as opposed to some conspiracy. It means access and access means influence.

I have supported moving the league office to Columbus with the HoF.

Eatman last week said that and also said that the league changed the test date on him.

but don't you know? weed is terrible but alcohol is fine.

isn't social perception a peach? good old relativity. but fact is the company does drug tests and weed is not something allowed in the business. even though i believe it should be for pain. better than the addicting pharma candy they give out.
money money money.

It's a clear conflict of interest. Jurors are dismissed from cases for far less than that all the time. To think that a case wouldn't be damaged by the lead investigator's clear, well-established partiality is more "ignorant" than anything else.

By that logic, anyone who has a favorite team cannot participate in any decision making as ANY decision might be biased toward their team. Good luck staffing the league office with people who don't really care about football.

Also, jurors can be dismissed without any reason, so that's far from a meaningful argument.

This woman isn't simply "staff", she's an investigator, whose results could have a significant impact on a division rival team. And she's not simply 'a fan', she's a known season ticket-holder and 'Superfan' with a Giants shrine in her home. Her personal situation is a clear-cut conflict of interest. And if anything comes of the Zeke case, her fandom would be a huge part of my defense case.

So this woman is incapable of being fair and impartial because she is a fan of a football team? That's just tinfoil hat stuff.

I've heard these "missed test" excuses in the past and they never work. I have a feeling it's a heck of a lot harder to miss a test than many of these players make it out to be, given how harshly the league treats missed tests. I don't think it's a matter of simply missing Randy as he was walking out the door. I could be wrong. Hope I'm wrong and he wins the appeal because he would be damn valuable come playoff time.

If only Gregory hadn't got that sack

Can't believe the league would be so reckless as to have Gregory testify w/o representation. My guess would be that they've already determined that they won't suspend him, and they're just going through the motions.

I hope so because suspending him for missing a drug test (NFL considers missing a drug test a failed drug test) while he was in a rehab won't fly in a court of law. (this is where I heard he was during the missed test)

That's what I'm thinking.

I can't see them going ahead with this if there was a negative outcome and him not having representation.

That's the only way they would hear without representation unless they were continuing it for another date

The NFL testing program is so ineffective and soft on banned substances that if you get suspended you must be really bad.
