I've gotten sucker punched a few times, your brain makes a funny sound as it bounces around your skull. At least my little pea brain does.

Hope lucas is OK and that steve smith gets cut and ends up here.

I don't see what the big deal is; just make sure to stand more than 3 feet away from him at all times and everything should be fine.

I love the fight in football players. But you do have to keep it on the field. It's part of sports though. I've come to blows with teammates before.

...it could end up being serious.

It's one of the number 1 ways that a hockey goon's career ends. As Eskimo says their vision is never the same. Especially peripheral vision.

Just came across an article on NFL.com which mentions that the Panthers sent Steve Smith home after he got into a big, bloody fight on the sidelines with CB Lucas. Apparently these 2 have been jawing at each other ever since Lucas arrived onthe team back in 2005. BTW: Included in that article was HC Fox comment that the players shouldn't retaliate against Steve Smith.

If you want to read the whole article, it's at http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d809a8482&template=with-video&confirm=true. Sorry, but found it too difficult to get it right so I left it so whoever wanted check it out could just go there. If Panthers' decide to punish Smith, he could lose some serious money and miss a few games but doubt Panthers will sit him during any regular season games. BTW: If Smith continues to get in trouble, who knows what could happen down the road. Maybe he'll end up as part of the Cowboys rehab system. j/k.

Maybe he's going to follow Rae Carruth's path. Is that the Panther that went to prison? But, he's sounds like Westbrook of Commanders hitting on Davis. lol

I think Carolina needs to get rid of that cancer to salvage their season.

And I know a spot where a speedy Pro Bowl receiver would look good.

Kidding...mostly.

I am..SHOCKED..that ESPN isn't making as big a deal about this as they did about Terrell Owens in Philly. This seems far worse

I think Steve Smith has some steroid issues going on. It wouldn't surprise me to find out he is injecting human growth hormone or some other steroids.

Thanks for posting pictures. If Lucas is hurt bad, some say broken orbital, he should be suspended, fined and sued. This reminds me of when Romonowski was with the Raiders he punched the TE in the eye and ended his career.

crazy thing? he's been sued for the same thing in the past

Coach John Fox just announced that wide receiver Steve Smith has been suspended for the first two games of the season for punching cornerback Ken Lucas on the sidelines during Friday's training camp practice in Spartanburg.

Fox, speaking after the Fan Fest scrimmage at Bank of America Stadium, said Smith's actions would not be tolerated and that Smith has been given conditions for the future regarding such behavior.

Fox said Lucas suffered a broken nose.

More details to come.
