Updated: ***Cowboys Players Official Cut List***

Emp., in your opinion, did Beasley make Coale expendable?

I'm not Emp, but I'd say it was a combination of Ogletree, Beasley and Holmes' play on special teams.

The advantage Coale had was the ability to play outside or inside and contribute as a gunner and on kick coverage. Ogletree and Beasley both showed they could play the slot as well, and Holmes looks like he could be a solid contributor on teams. Holmes has a way to go as a receiver, but the Cowboys have already shown they have a tendency to pick guys based on their measurables.

That said, there's no guarantee we kept Holmes. We've carried 5 WR into the season a few times since Garrett arrived as OC.

Dude didn't really do a thing all camp. Major youtube superstar only, and that was against Bethune Cookman.

He looked pretty awful last night against the Miami Dolphin 2nd and 3rd stringers.

I was right about Hamilton and Coale, but some of the others I listed on my 53 are gone already. I thought McQuistan and Leary would be kept. I guess Jerry Jones really does believe that Dockery is a different player than he was before.

It seems that there's a bit of a respect to tenure in this. Hence, the reason AOA and McGee are still unannounced. They've been here a while or before.

I agree with you. Just the small sample of cuts so far shows me why Dallas was 8-8 last year and why we can expect the same thing or worse this year.

None of these cuts will be the difference between a successful and unsuccessful 2012. Maybe you could argue this cut will hurt us 2 or 3 years from now, but right now, most of these guys were never going to see the field much anyway.

I am sure he was just saying what the coaches have said

It's kinda amazing Coale is this effortless natural receiver while Holmes is nothing but a stiff, but yet Holmes outproduced Coale head to head the last two weeks as a receiver.

I'm not nearly as upset about Coale being cut as I am Hamilton and Lemon

I don't think Jerry has anything to do with these cuts (although maybe Garrett let him keep his pet receiver). JG is in charge, and he's listening to Ryan, Callahan, and the coaches, not Jerry.

Did Hamilton make a play that I missed? I don't get all the love for a small college tiny linebacker.

Or that's what Jerry wants you to believe.

I had a feeling this would happen last week. Holmes' size will buy him another year to figure it out. It comes down who the team feels they can safely get on the practice squad.

Danny Coale walks on water and feeds the hungry. Unfortunately, that couldnt keep him healthy but for 2 weeks out of the last 4+ months.

He gave us depth at pass rusher.
