Sometimes I wonder if other teams mess with Jerry.

Sometimes I wonder if Jerry messes with reporters just to tweak the fans.

I wonder what percentage of the NFL carries 3 QBs. I imagine the vast majority of them suck horrendously. There aren't 20 good QBs to go around in the NFL, much less 90. I imagine they mostly hold value in weekly practice and preparation services with the scout team against the defense.

These days with the recent rule changes wrt to emergency QB's, there's even less reason to keep a third QB. I would guess almost no one keeps a 3rd QB active on game day.

Sounds like #Cowboys also plan to keep RB Lance Dunbar, UDFA from North Texas. Could it be 5 RBs, 1 FB? They're gonna pound it.

I wonder if they plan on making Dunbar a game activation as the return specialist. Felix looks slow on kickoff returns.

Cut Matt "In the Tub" Johnson, keep Silva. I was hoping Lemon might make it, but I can see both sides.

Now that IS surprising.

If they do that, it's likely for Olawale to be available if Witten can't go for depth purposes. If Witten is ready to go, then Olawale likely won't be active, and would be a logical cut to make room for a veteran O-lineman before week 2. I think Tanner showed enough in the short yardage department against Miami to think that they don't need two of those guys, and I think Olawale could make it through waivers.

Stupid choice to keep a 3rd Qb......but leave it up to a former QB giving McGee another chance....

Its pretty pathetic to waste a roster spot on McGee who will never see a snap.

Im shocked we can be this stupid.....half the NFL dont keep a 3rd QB....and we got to keep a stiff like McGee who still has no idea when to throw a football.

Im sorry but this is a bad decision......plain and simple.....love to hear Garrett's excuse for this decision.

That performance last night must've done the trick. Even though it was against scrubs, he made some impressive moves and showed vision.

With Felix' and DeMarco's injury histories, I'd probably keep extra RBs too. Phillip Tanner's running style lends itself to injury as well, and I'm not sure how long he would hold up if he had to step in as a feature back.

Of course, remember that this is what he's "hearing" and not necessarily what's going to happen. Not trying to undermine the guy, but until it's official that it's happened and not what he thinks is going to happen, I'm going to reserve judgment.

Amen. I'm pissed that we kept a 3rd quarterback, but I can understand the decision. But if you're going to keep a third QB, make it someone that can give us a fighting chance if he's in the game! When Adrian Hamilton is leading the NFL with sacks and Stephen McGee is sitting on his couch at age 30 Garretts gonna look pretty silly on this'n

Another reason we will be marginal again. I'm starting to sound like Risen Star for crying out loud but I really don't get this team!

Didn't see this anywhere so I thought I'd post it. Delete it if I missed it. Sirius NFL Radio is reporting that the Cowboys will cut Danny Coale and Adrian Hamilton.

I have to say that I love how folks are ready to throw the season on the junkpile because of a couple of bottom of the roster decisions. Overreact much?

Anyone who thought any of the cuts were going to be the difference between winning and losing this year has lost touch with reality...and that's difficult considering he's actually on these forums.

Wow, we're marginal because we kept a 3rd string QB over players who will probably clear waivers.

Get a grip people. Seriously.
