They can appeal this ruling and likely the Supreme Court will overturn the idiots...

Now I'm sure the Cowboys logo is disparaging to someone someplace so I expect to see a court challenge to change our
logo's soon...Right???

Who is offended by anything to do with the Cowboys? The Skins should just change their racist name and get it over with.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
It should be, the star is surely a constant reminder of childhood failings and therefore causes distress to idiots who never got a gold star at school.
I see what you did there.

Did they lose the trademark? I heard they had 6 trademarks cancelled for being disparaging to Native Americans, which doesn't necessarily mean they lost the Commander trademark. They could have filed a number of other trademarks related to the Commander name that were invalidated, just like if the Cowboys lost the "Dallas Cowboy's Cheerleaders" trademark, that doesn't invalidate Dallas Cowboys as a trademark, for example.

they lost trademark protection. that means they can still use it but can't keep others from using it. it does'nt effect the team logo, just the trademarks with the word Commander in them.

I don't see where All they did was what they were legally supposed to do when a suit is brought before them.

I think Commanders should keep their name. The men who have worn the uniform have done so with pride not to mock or offend. I may not like the team but there have been some greats who wore it and did so proudly.

Appeals court has over-ruled this thing before.

From the sounds of it, they only got the last appeal on a technicality and this time it won't apply.

I think the name is embarrassing for the NFL and as a fan of a team that belongs in the NFL, I'm embarrassed that the NFL would continue to go out of their way to try and protect the name.

I don't believe that current day fans and the current day Washington team are actually racist against Native Americans. But, it is a name that once represented racism towards Native Americans and the lengths that racism led to, which included rape, torture and murder of Native Americans.

So, I think it is disrespectful to label the Washington Commanders and their fans as racists against Native Americans. But, I do think they are extremely inconsiderate towards the Native Americans and their culture. They just have some irrational devotion to keeping that name even if it makes them look like fools.

it's not about the great players it's about the Indian nation that the name reflects on.
If Native Americans didn't feel offended then thats a different matter.
One day this will be obvious

LOL:

It does seem like a lot of the #Commanders problems could be solved if they just changed their mascot to a potato.

and not all native americans feel this way, the vocal groups do but they do not represent all others. Hail to the Commanders is not to mock or put down and because you get some over sensitive people who want to get in the news bit fricken deal.

The vast majority of native americans don't have a problem with the name. It's only a small group of activist.
