No getting the fact that you're tearing down the walls screaming about "we don't know the pats were gonna take him, we were told that, he was a reach, he would have been there later." Those are your positions. You are screaming that.

But someone else tells you that the Pats WERE gonna take him, and you discount it because we "don't know it, we were told it." Why give your opinion any more credence than these reports?

Ive read where Stanback said his agent told him he would picked somehere around the fourth. ive seen him in peoples top 100s, ive heard the cowboys state that they heard from people saying that they were prepared to take him right after us in the 4th, ive seen projections before the injury he was going to a high first day pick. None of that really matters.

Jeff Ireland and our scouting department apparently felt that he was a 4th round pick and I have faith in him and his staff.

As far as rating players, that Crosby was rated in the top 100 of a lot of people rankings including that one. Ratings don't mean much... I was told he was slated to be a 4th round pick. Haven't seen a mock yet with that.

True enough. Still, how a player is rated is approximately where someone forecasting the draft expects the player to be drafted according to their overall value.
