The problem with all of them is they debate the same wrong issue, which is RB vs another position, when the real debate ought to be Elliott himself as a player.
I'm going to completely put aside the 35 years I've been watching this game and me failing to see anything special about his running style, because I am not a pro scout or analyst.
I'll argue against taking him from this perspective.....
Todd Gurley, Trent Richardson, CJ Spiller, Darren McFadden, Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson and Caddillac Williams.
Those are all of the RBs picked in the top 10 since 2002. ONE elite player. There is no other position like that and it isn't even remotely close.
What exactly makes Elliot so immune to joining the not named Peterson part of that list??
The position also has a short shelf life, which probably explains why the above list is so short to begin with. It shows that teams are willing to take the chance when a player appears to be very special.
All to often for my taste, that team is very wrong.
