Get him to the second level and this guy may be a great weapon. What an exciting player.

Vaughn might be gone! All the way to the endzone.

Old news. I was posting these in pre draft discussions trying to tell the masses that there were still good backs available into the 6th round.

But you still need good blocking and holes. That will be the issue. If the line can make holes, this kid can make you pay as can Pollard.

I appreciate all the optimism around the player but the unfortunate reality is the likelihood he is anything more than a backup or situational player is pretty slim.

Hoping he does well but If I had to bet on the guy I'd give him a year or two on the practice squad, maybe the occasional call up and then out of the league.

Just being realistic
I think the kid can play right away, but my bigger fear is the coaches wont use him properly or only use him on special teams.

He is also not going to be good in pass protection. That is a problem.

He will have a good or great O-Line to run behind. If he can hit the hole he could disappear and pop out in the second level. LB and safeties hit hard in the NFL.
Really? Which Oline is that? Are they going to trade him?

He's got an explosive component to him but I wonder if his ceiling is like that of Turpin too...sometimes it's not just about being able to but about having enough opportunities to show your ability...unless there is injury he's probably not going to have many chances

this kid is better than Tarik C. He's not a change of pace guy, he was the main back at Kstate. This guy is being minimized as far as what he can be and is. The film never lies if u watch his games. That being said, Can RJ be a RB that picks up guys in pass pro?Thats where he will need help.

I would use him in a lot of different ways. Like a Sproles. But I have doubts they will. Look how they used Pollard poorly for example. Lots of guys we heard this about and it never happened.

He’s either going to be really good or he’ll instantly be a bust.

In the 6th round it was totally worth it. The risk reward is enormous in favor of the award.

He’s a 3 down back. Not some 3rd down only guy or anything.

Him being short was viewed as a weakness but that has always been his strength.

He is Tarik Cohen. A gadget player at best.
Being a gadget guy is not his game.

He’s a legit run the ball between the tackles player.

Either he’ll be able to do it or he won’t.

He’s not a player that requires being put in space.

He does his best work when there isn’t much space which makes me think this pick will work out.

I wanted Devon Achane but I'm happy we got this midget! He's good and should add some some real spice to this offense.

Not so sure, Roy. Brian Schottenheimer was in San Diego when Sproles was there. He saw the value firsthand.

Trying not to be too overly optimistic, but if this kid shows out in camp, I think Schott won't hesitate to leverage him as a weapon.

He's got a nasty little shoulder dip juke.
He’s an absolute nightmare at every level of the defense.

So.. If you wanted to be negative here is my worry.

He gets compared to Sproles..

I think a better comparison would be Clyde Edwards Helaire and Clyde has been a bust but a lot of that has to do with him not staying healthy.

He is a gadget player. Change of pace back.

He is going to make plays. Yeah he is small but we have seen that work before in the league.

Not really a needle mover but not as if he won’t help a little here and there. Sixth round pick…y’all expect every single pick to be a stud don’t ya?

I think you just say gadget player because you see that he is small.

His game is anything but a gadget player.

And he is a stud. He scored 40 something TDs in 3 years and he did it with hard nose between the tackles running against top competition in college.

His only weakness is his height. So if it turns out that his height was never a weakness then what?

I’ll tell you what that means.. If his height isn’t a weakness then you just stole a absolute monster RB in round 6.

The NFL is betting against his height and that’s why we got him where we did.

Deuce has great contact balance that allows him to break tackles someone 180lbs shouldn't.

He's only short. He's not frail. He's powerfully built, just lacks height.

I want to love this pick.
I want to love the pick too, and it is only a 6th, but when he runs you can see how his top speed is limited by the length of his legs. I just do not think he will be fast enough in the NFL to run away from everyone. His strength is his elusiveness. Maybe they work on his running mechanics to get him a little more speed. Then he might be something.

Can you imagine using him in a combo rb package, especially on goal line. Defense would have to spread out a little to account for him
