Vaughn Might Be Gone - All the way to the endzone

Maybe, to start with, but at least he's going to have more chance than when KM was here. I suppose this is why the organization wanted a blocking TE and drafted a FB, to assist.
Probably what they said about Sproles. His role will be different than in college but this kid has things some bigger guys dont. Starting with heart and vision. Dont write him off. Thx

Not so sure, Roy. Brian Schottenheimer was in San Diego when Sproles was there. He saw the value firsthand.

Trying not to be too overly optimistic, but if this kid shows out in camp, I think Schott won't hesitate to leverage him as a weapon.
Great point Wasnt aware of that info. Nice to know.

I think you just say gadget player because you see that he is small.

His game is anything but a gadget player.

And he is a stud. He scored 40 something TDs in 3 years and he did it with hard nose between the tackles running against top competition in college.

His only weakness is his height. So if it turns out that his height was never a weakness then what?

I’ll tell you what that means.. If his height isn’t a weakness then you just stole a absolute monster RB in round 6.

The NFL is betting against his height and that’s why we got him where we did.
Semantics. My fault.

I just meant he is a guy who isn’t going to play like every other series, or be counted on as RB2, it’ll be more like specific plays mixed in here and there, and there will be plays that are used for him only.

I meant nothing negative at all. If anything I was trying to point out that he ought to help. If nothing else it’s a dynamic this offense didn’t have beforehand.

I applauded the pick when it happened.

Think he’s a little too slow. He’s shifty so might make some plays but not a home run threat in nfl.

Supposedly they love Malik Davis so there is that.

I think they need to be four deep at TB.

Not sure if that’s gonna be possible numbers wise, especially if MM wants to keep a FB, which I’m gonna guess finally happens….unless he more or less doubles as TE4, bumping McKeon.

Maybe they go light at WR if the 12 personnel rumors come to fruition.

Forget nepotism. Lets make this kid into a legend this offseason. He can be the next Matt Johnson.

Sproles ran around 4,5. Deuce is 4.56. Deuce beat Sproles in the vert jump and also beat Sproles by over a foot in the broad jump!! Sounds similar and maybe quicker in space than Sproles!!

I want to love the pick too, and it is only a 6th, but when he runs you can see how his top speed is limited by the length of his legs. I just do not think he will be fast enough in the NFL to run away from everyone. His strength is his elusiveness. Maybe they work on his running mechanics to get him a little more speed. Then he might be something.
Let me put it in perspective for you.

Emmitt Smith 40 time: 4.55
Duece Vaughn 40 time: 4.44 (reportedly)

Deuce is not going to be the next Emmitt. Emmitt had pad speed. He could run that 40 in pads. Now do I hope he is the next Emmitt of course,

People keep saying Deuce won't be a homerun hitter. He doesn't need to be. He can help the Cowboys without scoring every time he touches the ball.

If they come in healthy. We will have good players across the line as starters. Hoping Steele is healed up and ready.
Im not as confident as you. I see Tyron and Steele as getting one good tackle out of those two. I dont see Tyron being healthy for long.

I see those two at RT, Martin, Biadasz, Chung?, Tyler

I just dont see that as a good line.

How did he test so poorly at the combine?

He's 179 lbs. How on earth is he going to block anyone, other than maybe the tiny CB the skins drafted?

I'd love to see him become a great player, but his size leaves giant holes in his game. He isn't very fast, the highlight runs where he ran away from mostly awful big 12 defenses, he'll be immediately caught by NFL players. I see practice squad for him, unless he can find a spot as a kick returner. The fullback from division 2 is a much better fit than Deuce is, and he has the size to create a niche for himself as a short yardage back, with at least the bulk to block someone, or tackle as a special teamer. Deuce provides nothing in that regard.
