Vegas didn't like the Cowboys draft and FA

Db's are useless unless you have a pass rush? Your logic is ridiculous. Who said that Ramsey is the next Sanders?

You dont even make sense. So I guess we will never had a D in Dallas because D players are useless and they dont impact immediately? Its short term thinking like this that keeps the Cowboys at 500.

I don't make sense? How well has it helped the defense when they constantly use resources on DBs? It has stunk and the defense has declined. Mo, Carr, Jenkins , etc, was wasted picks if the intent was to build a.defense. The first step in building the defense is to use resources on the DL, the trenches. A DB can only cover for a few seconds. With no pass rush, the QB can pick the defense apart . I said that Rsnsey is not the next a Sanders snd was not worthy of the pick. None of the defensive prospects available with the 4th pick would have had the impact this year or in the years to come that a great RB will have. It seems like you have reading comprehension problems. I wanted a top QB, that is looking as long term as it gets. Second on my wish list was a pass rusher , but Bosa was gone. Exactly what part of that don't you understand?

Its not my fault that Jerry sucks at drafting. He also sucks at signing corner in FA. That is why when you are up at 4 you have to take the cant miss guys at key positions of need.

Your stance on DB's makes no sense is what I was referring to.

I didnt want Bosa at all. I would have taken Ramsey or traded back.

A 3rd round DT this year is not the usual 3rd round DT because of the depth of the position.

The Cowboys think they got a very good player in him. I admit...I haven't watched his tape yet but I will.

I also see Tapper being a good player. I have watched him and see him really adding to our DL.

You can't say that Thorton isn't an upgrade and that Mayora isn't likely better than Mincemeat...

They are mid-around talents . As you stated, you have not watched Collins and his name was not mentioned on any draft sites that I looked at. Thornton was a good signing. Neither one offers a pass rush at this point. I hope they work out. I want the defense upgraded just like everybody else, but I don't think you build a defense by spending top ten picks on DBs when the defense has no pass rush at all. The offense stunk until Jerry decided to draft trench players high. It will take the same thing build s good defense.

How is a DB with no ball skills make you feel good about blowing the 4th pick on him. He was not even the top pure CB or the top pure safety in the draft. There are serious concerns about him playing CB at all. Dallas has enough DBs that can not intercept the ball and you wanted to blow a 4th pick on another one. If I wanted a DB drafted in the top ten, I would want the best at his position. Ramsey's problem is that he can play multiple positions, but he is not the best at any of them. From your comments, you support building a defense in the same way that has failed time and time again. Did you not learn anything from the team's previous mistakes. Name some of the top DBs that was drafted top ten that proved their value in the pros. There is only one, maybe two. You can name many that was top ten picks that never lived up to their draft position. Mo, M. Barron, etc. I predicted Mo and Barron would never be worth the pick even though I took tons of heat on this board. Peterson might actually be worth his draft position. I have been consistent on my views that DBs are over drafted for years. A trade back was not a sure thing if Zeke was the target. I stated before the draft that I wanted a trade back after QB was out of the question.

To say he has no ball skills is just plain dumb. Why dont you read up on him and get educated? Start by watching the video I sent you.

So you dont want to build a defense now? LOL

Never mind. Short term, short minded, cheerleader mentality I simply cannot deal with. Enjoy!!

4 or 5 corners were taken in the first round. One RB was taken in the first round. I guess they are all idiots and Jones is the genius eh?

Henry would have been rookie of the year and made the most short term impression on the Cowboy as well. Or are you going to say he sucks too?

Even Germ Edwards brought up his lack of ball skills on the ESPN special with Ransey. I am going to watch your video with hopes of seeing a bunch of phantom interceptions.!of course I want to build the defense now. The way you build a defense is to start in with the front 7. Other than the first pick, it seems like the process has started. I think you can take a pole snd find out that I am considered one if the most realistic posters on here.most even calls me negative. I have never been accused of cheerleading , do I did get a laugh from this conversation if nothing else.

Ball skills is more than just picks. The guy is diving all over the place knocking away passes, causing fumbles, big hits. You want to get nit picky that he only had 3 picks, be my guest. The guy is a stud.

I am all for a stud in the running game. Been crying for it over Mcchicken and Murray for a while now. So no gripes there. I just dont see how you use a #4 pick on the back when we dont even have a championship D yet. If it was the only big hole we had left, I could see using it. But we are far from a complete team.

In 2014 the odd's for us to win the super bowl was 40/1 on September 6, 2014. Romo was coming off of his back surgery and we looked like crap during the pre-season. Odds are constantly changing. It was a real heartbreak loss to Green Bay with the Murray fumble and the Dez blown call (see below). I make a bet every year. My best year was 1993 (94 Super) when I won $1,500 on 15-1 odds. The 94 and 96 super bowls were good wins, but we were heavily favored so the payout obviously wasn't as much.

Jones took the only elite RB in the draft according to every scout, scouting guide and anybody else with any football knowledge. I have said before, that I am not sold on Zeke as being great, but I honestly haven't watched much of him. He is supposed to be the most complete RB that has come out of college in years. I am not as big of fan if Zeke as I am a fan of the smash mouth style of running the ball. Zeke should have a long , productive career and he will have more impact than any DB will ever have. The front seven of a defense is what matters. DBs are only as good as the front seven. No pass rush means tons of completed passes because no DB can cover a WR for several seconds. I am sure that the teams that drafted CBs with their pick needed them, but they probably have a pass rush to support him. If I was going to draft a CB, I would have drafted one that gets interceptions . Henry will be a good RB in the right system, but he is not a complete RB.

It is questionable that he can even play CB in the NFL. Dallas viewed him as s CB until they received information that was not so good about his ability at CB. Defenses are not built from the outside in, a good defense is built just the opposite . The history of multiple failures when trying to build a defense your way is clear, but you want to repeat it.

It never gets old listening to you discount anyone and everything that says anything bad about the Cowboys. You know better than the vegas bookies, the beat writer, the analysts, everyone. GO COWBOYS!!! :lmao2:

Are we referring to the same Vegas bookies that selected the Colts to win it all this time last year? Those folks?

:popcorn::facepalm:

Well, in regards to smash mouth football, we are all in together on that one. I am little surprised you havent seen much of Zeke. Be assured that he is an amazing back and should give us the home run threat that we havent had in a while. His vision and quickness are incredible. I believe that Henry would have been great in this offense with this line, but just about any RB would be. All the rest you said I really cant even begin to agree with or get where you are coming from. You are building a defense and you need certain pieces. Whether they have an immediate impact or not or whether you need a push rush first is rather ridiculous. YOU get the players and at some point it all comes together. Ramsey was that Corner that everyone searches for and was right in our laps. Its over and Im done crying about it.

Zeke will be awesome to watch, but to me its short term over long term. I dont see the Cowboys any closer to the SB with this draft unless Smith turns out to be an all pro in a year.

I cant say if they are the same folks or not. But what it tells you is that some people paid to do their jobs dont agree with you on the cowboys draft. Now they can be wrong just like you can be wrong. But probably a much less alarming rate. You probably were predicting great things last year for the Cowboys. And no doubt you were one of the guys telling me that McFadden was a good enough RB and the RG was just fine last year. And now you are telling me that we need Zeke so badly that we needed to use a 4th pick on him. Were you just wrong or are you just a homer that loves anything and everything the Cowboys do? Im going to bet that it is both.

I did not spend much time watching Zeke, so I really didn't form an opinion on him. I didn't argue for or against him, but I have argued for drafting a top RB to finish off building the power run game. I don't place much value on DBs, certainly not as much as some of these posters. Dallas has tried building a great defense with highly drafted DBs and it resulted in failure. I believe that spending the draft picks and resources in the trenches is the only way to build a defense. Other than Sanders, I have never seen a DB that was a impact player from game to game. I am not saying that there are not good DBs that play well, I just believe that you don't build a defense with a DB as the cornerstone player.

Well.............if part of your theory is that Jerry sucks at drafting and he cant screw it up drafting Zeke then I have no issues with that.
