It's for the same reason why Davis was sent to the locker room. I'd rather go die fighting then bend over and take in the rear end.

I wouldn't have a problem with it then. But you punish your dog and your children immediately. He's gotten the idea. If he continues with that crap then most of the civilized world will be calling for his head.

Mike is coward. I hope someone on the staff had enough stones to say so........sadly, I doubt it.

Yea.

And you are so tough. Im pretty sure if you were on the field you would have made the tackle ...

Anyways. Mike Jenkins is not a coward. He just made a mistake.

I dont care if he is a rookie.........as a defensive player, he has been conditioned to tackle the guy with the ball, or at least make a decent attempt at it.

jumping the wrong WR, like he did in St. Louis, is acceptable. At least he was trying to cover someone, even if it was the wrong guy.

I think he has been doing a fine job thus far, and looks to have a bright future.

However, that one play was inexcusable and it better not happen again. Heck he could have pulled a Deion and dove behind Ward to at least make it look like he tried.....but don't just stop and watch him run by you.....

Including the fans.

I’m seeing sites calling for Mike Jenkins to get benched for his olé in the 4th quarter.

People. Keep your senses. Mike Jenkins is getting better every week. He’s the future at one CB spot. He had a pick six Sunday. He’s doing crazy things but he’s got an excuse. He’s a rookie. If he keeps doing crazy things, fine, but he’s got one stupid example on his resume. Adam Jones, by comparison, has a career’s worth of ***-clownery.

But seriously, you gonna bench him and play Anthony Henry, the one-legged man? Who’s better going forward? A guy who’s getting better every week, or a guy who’s slowing down every week and who is again injured?

Would you have benched Leon Lett after Thanksgiving ‘03 for being a knucklehead? And what would it have cost you if you did?

Not defending idiot pacman, but his dumb stuff was off the field. I have no time for a player...who on the field...shows a lack of effort, intensity, or heart. That crap he pulled...I would bench his butt one week, but who am I kidding, there aint no accountability in "Wade's family" cause we are all family, if my brother shoots our mother in the head, well maybe he was just having a bad day, lets forgive him w/o even a ***.

No Wade ******, when your "family member" screws up, you hold em accountable. Sorry, I know this is supposed to be about Jenkins, but it all goes back to Wade. B/c alot of these guys, including Mike, are just kids. They need discipline, leadership, and to be taught for goodness sake. It all starts and ends with Wade.

I don't want him benched, I want someone besides the media and fans to call him on it so he doesn't do it again.

Some of you folks are absolutely amazing.

I can just imagine how well you manage your real lives as opposed to this "perfect management style" you portray through a forum.

You act like you, and no one around you ever makes a mistake-- ever. You run your own life perfectly as do those around you. "Stepford fans."

How do you know he is a coward. Even playing college ball takes some nads. Did he have that reputation in college? You don't know this guy personally. I would think the scouts and coaches would have more insight into his playing fortitude and character than we do. It could be as simple as him being unsure or expecting help when he should have taken the initiative.

It was horrific non-action on his part or just a dumb rookie mistake. But calling him out as a coward from the confines of your living room is uncalled for. Let's see how he fares in upcoming games. In retrospect was he Capt. Courageous in preseason and other regular season games?

I don't know about you guys

but I'm about ready to move on from this...

I agree. We had a lot more go wrong then Mike no hearted effort. I am sure he got called on it, if not from the coaches, the players.

Thankfully this is a bye week so we can concentrate on beating the skins so we can get back into our winning ways.

Did he just compare Jenkins to Adam Jones ???? Seriously ???? I hope he was referring to Jenkins ON FIELD vs. Adam OFF FIELD antics. Because Adam is FAR SUPERIOR to Jenkins, come on! Adam closes on receivers extremely quickly, allowing them minimal yards and can blanket receivers at times. Jenkins frequently bites on pumps, tries to jump routes, and is a bit soft even when he is tackling.

And the pick 6 ???? Come on, that was a gimme. And if you think ANY PART OF THAT was because of Jenkins prowess on the field, you're delusional!

The mistakes aren't Mike Jenkin's fault...we all know who's fault the mistakes are...Wade Phillips...it's his fault when the team makes mistakes...

Think I'll pile on and blame him for half our scoring Sunday.

Scandrick is playing NOTICEABLY better than Jenkins at this point. Jenkins SHOULD be at least playing at the same level.

Do people not understand the difference between a mistake and a poor attitude? It isn't like he made a mistake in technique or a mental error--he flat out gave up on the play and then tried to throw a teammate under the bus when called out on it. Rookies can overcome mental and technique errors, but it is VERY difficult to change that type of piss poor approach to the game...... It certainly won't happen with this coaching staff.

Has anyone asked Wade about that play? What is Wade's excuse for it?

Ohforchrissakes!!!

I wish he'd made the tackle just so I wouldn't have to read so many of your "enlightened" comments on the subject. He made a mistake. If he makes the same mistake again, that's an issue. Right now, it's not an issue, except to those of you who've apparently never made a mistake and don't cut any slack to those who have.

He gave up on the play, rookie or not. That being said, he has been called out on it and hopefully he has learned his lesson. If it happens again, then his arse needs to be benched. For that matter, if ANY player quits on a play again this year, it should result in an automatic benching.

I think people wouldn't have been so upset IF it were a mistake, but to 95% of us, it appears that he QUIT on that play. BIG difference.
