They are saying the details will not be available till next monday, but that he has indeed accepted the plea deal.

We'll have to hope for a leak.

OK.....now.........get a rope, lets string him up.

Shot, electrocuted, and drowned from what I've read.

There's no team that would touch him at this point.

Vick Attorney Says Star Quarterback Will Plead Guilty in Dogfighting Case

Monday , August 20, 2007

The lead attorney for pro football star Michael Vick said Monday that the Atlanta Falcons quarterback will plead guilty to dogfighting and related charges and will "accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made."

Billy Martin, heading up Vick's legal team, issued the following statement:

"After consulting with his family over the weekend. Michael Vick ask that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with Federal prosecutors regarding the charges pending against him. Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of Guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made. Michael wishes to apologizes again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter. The legal team and Mr. Vick will appear in court in Richmond on August 27th."

Vick's attorneys hope to hear back from National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell's office sometime Monday about Vick's career options, sources said.

Vick's three codefendants in the dogfighting case have accepted agreements to plead guilty in exchange for reduced sentences.

Sports radio in atlanta seems shocked that it could all end this way. Only a moron couldn't see this coming. This was his only way out.

Interesting... 20 minutes ago, ESPNRadio was reporting he had decided to take his chances at trial...

He made the smart decision if he is taking the deal...

I bet the gambling charge was not in the ple. Any QB in the NFL wouldn't have a chance and would never agree to this charge.Shoot Rick Touchette got 2 years probation and may coach again and he admitted to gambling. I guess hockey is different

Much the same way that both Mortensen and Pasquareli wrote that Vick wouldn't be indicted in the first place.

"Nice work boys!"

This is the same lawyer who said last month, "we look forward to the opportunity to being able to walk inside this courtroom saying to the world that Michael Vick is innocent."

So much for Vick wanting "to clear his good name."

Hasn't been cut because then Atlanta couldn't go after the bonus money they gave him.

Now when he serves his time, he'll be indefault of his contract and they can.

Any other 'gems'?

You keep holding your breath for his 'comeback', OK?

I don't think having a minority viewpoint necessitates therapy. It would be a bit of a mess if we all agreed.

There was never any doubt that POS was guilty.

I just hope he didn't get it down to a year.

18 months or more I hope.
