I'm pretty sure that's what I was talking about before you and Big Dakota decided that we were going to dissect every Tom, Dick and Harry that might need to hunt for some strange reason - maybe because they don't know how to plant seeds? But the vast majority of mankind could survive without hunting. A few random outliers don't change that fact. That's pretty easily defensible.

I would tend to agree with the former statement. The fact it was dog killing made the crime seem worse to many observers because for the most part, we love dogs and they are part of our families. We wouldn't set up child fighting rings either. Dogs are the only thing on the planet that love you more than themselves. They are always happy to see you, and always make you feel loved.

Had he been involved in cock fighting, many of the people very grossed out by the allegations would not have had the same reaction.

Dogs are special and unique. I mean many of us will forgo something for ourselves in order to get our dog the medicine he needs.

Cock fighting is wrong...however, you could eat if afterwards if it got killed. Could you eat the dead dog?

I'm sure there are some who disagree there are some who disagreeing with every single law out there. Hell there is a group in the US who thinks having sex with young boys should be legal but we as an overall society strongly disagree. We as a society also find dog fighting and roster fighting as wrong and the activities associated with it.

There are human rights that are laid out in the constitution that deal with NAMBLA. Last time i checked there was no set of rights for dogs.

No you as a culture find that. A society denotes consensus. This is exactly what Plato talks about in the evils of democracy. Kipling would be proud.

Cock fighting is illegal in some states I think, and should be illegal in all states.

Next question...

As a matter of fact plenty people are talking about it...

The Agriculture Department is working closely with the House and Senate during this session to make cockfighting illegal... and it should be...

As it stands it is only legal in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Louisiana I believe...

Missouri and Arizona, the other holdouts, made it illegal in 1998...

So, this issue IS being addressed...
