Shot, electrocuted, and drowned from what I've read.

There's no team that would touch him at this point.

Exactly, not rocket science.

I'm glad because I am so sick of the idiots in the US who can NOT SHUT UP about this.

No one makes a scene anything remotey like this when a woman is raped or a minority is killed, yet there is a dogfighting ring and people want to see Vick killed.

I hate any sort of organized animal fighting, but seriously people, where is your outrage when someone is killed for being gay? Or when a young black girl is kidnapped and raped?

It's like people only care if it's cuddly animals or young blonde girls.

Disgusting.

Hasn't been cut because then Atlanta couldn't go after the bonus money they gave him.

Now when he serves his time, he'll be indefault of his contract and they can.

Any other 'gems'?

You keep holding your breath for his 'comeback', OK?

He still hasnt been cut. You sure have a lot emotionally invested in seeing him go down.

If a team will sign Leonard Little after killing a lady and then still going out and drinking and driving I think that an NFL team will sign Vick assuming the Falcons cut him. Im trying to be objective about this.

Im sure that Goodell will suspend him fo a good liong time and after all that is said and done all of the media frenzy is gone and he shows some contrition then i very easily could see a team signing Vick.

Again this is the NFL and not Stasheroo's Opinion Shack.

Why is it so difficult for you to accept that most people feel it is unacceptable to treat these dogs in this manner? Clearly, that's how America, by and large feels. We are a democratic nation. The nation has clearly spoken in how it feels. I guess I just don't understand it Fuzzy.

i could care less what anyone outside of the NFL feels. Leonard Little plays. Michael Vick will go to jail and the nation's 'justice' will be done.

Protest, Progress, and Product Tests:
A Short History of Animal Tests

Millions of animals suffer and die each year in the testing of cosmetic, personal care, and household products. Companies poison them to death. They shave the animals' skin and expose it to corrosive substances. They place powerful chemicals in animals' eyes. All of this is done just for a "new and improved" cologne, dish-washing detergent, or toothpaste.

While thousands of animals are killed every year in the United States in product tests, there is no law that requires these tests to be done. Many large and small companies have announced moratoriums or an outright end to product tests. However, there are still a few companies that refuse to end the practice. This is surprising because most scientists have come to the conclusion that animal testing is totally inadequate for protecting humans from harmful products.

Cosmetics testing which is done by more than half of the cosmetics company is yet another form of pointless legal animal abuse in this country. those guys have money though so nothing will happen there.

Who want to see Vick killed?

Did he not violated federal (and possibly state) law?

What many want to see is that he get punished for crime(s) he committed, just like any other crimes.

Things change. We are forcing companies that test on animals to stop. 50 years ago Blacks and American Indians couldn't vote and were treated as second class. Things change. In this NEW NFL do you think Goodell would let Little slide? Just because someone got away with something years ago you seem to think that's the way it will ALWAYS BE. Things change and you don't seem to grasp that.

My only comment:

I'm glad it'll be over soon, so I'll no longer have to tolerate anymore Vick pissing matches. And w/the season upon us, I can focus on more football threads.

I don't recall anyone signing Little after he did what he did - only the team that he played for keeping him. And if his case had gotten the attention it deserved, he wouldn't be playing. That was a mistake that happened in the past. Fortunately history didn't repeat itself with another wrong.

Yeah, maybe his new team will win as many championships with him as his old team did. That should be worth any negative PR, right?

Like I've said, hold your breath for your 'hero's' return.

Please hold your breath.

I think all of this analysis and in-depth research in trying to understand why there's such a huge public uproar over what Vick did is actually much simpler than what you might think:

People like animals more than they like people.

You just assume its a foregone conclusion. What Little did was infinitely worse than anyhting Vick did and he only got 4 games. Sure we may see Vick suspended for a year but look at Jones. He was involved in the killing of people to some degree and he only got a year.

You guys are just not being objective about it in any way.

If theyll let Jones play when he doesnt behave contrite in the slightest then I dont see thm banning Vick.

and you continue to think that people shouldn't care about animals as much as we obviously do. he tortured and killed several dogs.
Let's get one thing clear here.

It's not "animals" you people are SO butt-hurt over, it's "dogs". Why? Because they are your pets. Because they are your companions. You probably couldn't care less about all the animals being hunted for sport.

Dogs are just "animals" to me, so I don't feel that Vick is THAT much worse than a deer hunter. Or a slaughterhouse that gives us tasty hamburgers (cows are sacred in India, by the way).
while you don't seem to care - i suggest thereapy as needed for you to understand *you* are in the minority here.
The strong majority of folks in our society are incredibly stupid... so "you're in the minority" isn't much of an insult. :)

No, it's the media that makes a huge deal out of it and for a week straight the only thing you will in the headlines is yet another young white girl killed for whatever reason.

Maybe you're unfamiliar with the Duke rape trial. Some research might be in order. Then maybe you can drop this craziness?

Exactly. They are trying to clean the league up and with all the mess going on with the NBA, it ratches it up even further. Vick is done in the NFL.

Owners are too smart to hire a guy who has been killing dogs for a while. No one wants to be attached to that. Steroids/DWI/night club fights etc. are one thing.........Vick's deal is on another level. A level that the NFL wants absolutely NO PART OF.............just sit back and watch. Vick is done as a player in the NFL.

Thank you for making sense in this thread.

Most people let their emotions get the best of them and only care about things that affect them most directly. I am almost positive that people would not care nearly as much about cock-fighting.

Hey, that would be an interesting change of pace...

Im sure that Goodell will suspend him fo a good liong time and after all that is said and done all of the media frenzy is gone and he shows some contrition then i very easily could see a team signing Vick.

If Vick ends up missing 2-3 seasons, as he easily could once he serves his sentence and then an NFL suspension, I could see him not being a real hot commodity on the open market once he returns... not because he's now a "pariah", but because he wasn't really very good before he took his forced hiatus, and a 2-3 year layoff won't help his skills much...

I know this is the NFL, and if he was actually good, the odds are that he'd find SOMEBODY willing to take a chance on him... but he has been highly overrated since he came into the league, and just isn't worth the trouble he'd bring along with him...
