Michael Vick's impressive play earned him a starting job.

Vick will take over as the Philadelphia Eagles' No. 1 quarterback, coach Andy Reid said Tuesday, a day after he announced he would go back to Kevin Kolb.

''When someone is playing at the level Michael Vick is playing, you have to give him an opportunity,'' Reid said. ''This isn't about Kevin Kolb's play. You're talking about Michael Vick as one the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now.''

Lol I wish somebody would up the threads with everybody scared of Kevin Kolb. Cowboys have got to have the softest fanbase ever.

top QB when he's on his game. He's going to demand a huge contract next year if he continues playing like this.

itll take the nfl a couple games to figure out what it took them a few years to figure out back in the mid 2000's...will never have an ounce of respect for this man...not even his athletic ability

They got better, but not good.

A guy with a 54% career completion % is not winning the SB any time soon. If they wanted an inaccurate, poor decision making, running QB shoe-horned into a WC offense he doesn't belong in, they should have kept McNabb.

Defenses are going to do what they did to him in Atlanta - take away his legs and make him beat them with his arm. Which he can't do.

I can't argue with the stats but he looks to be a better QB now. I know that's not much to argue but that is my impression. And I think he's definitely better than Kolb is now. I'm not sure about the long run.

fact of the matter is...Vick is the best dual threat in the game today

say what you want....yes its the eagles and we hate them, but this will cause us and everyone else problems

with Vick at QB you cant play the way you would like too play...

you rush 4....he will be patient and when the pocket collapses he will make plays.....you blitz? he can still break it, and is good enough too beat it with his arm

He had an OK game against GB who obviously didn't game plan for him and then rang up some numbers on friggin Detroit. I think they jury is still way out on what he is now vs. before.

Furthermore, he may be better than Kolb now, but what about the future? Philly has $12M next year committed to Kolb and Vick is a FA. If they play Vick this season - a year when I don't think their defense is SB-worthy either - what do they do next year? Sign Vick to a massive contract too when you don't know what you have in Kolb?

Its a short-sighted decision to win a few more games than they might have otherwise by a coach feeling the pressure IMO. As I said, they are better this season no question. But if they stick with this all year they may have thrown next year down the drain for no reason.
