And the primary catalyst in Theebs's decision to leave us finally decides to speak.

:laugh2:

Self-defense is a cherished right. The twerp ruined my Sunday. Anyway, thanks to YouTube, losing him at CZ doesn't mean losing his vids. That said, I hope he comes back. It's silly to junk an entire forum over something so trivial.

Romo made it about him when he decided to become a "Hollywood" QB without accomplishing anything in the league. I don't begrudge the guy living a fabulous life because I would in his position. Big Ben had him cased right when he hung him out to dry before we played the Steelers last year. You keep the profile he does, you better get it done or the wolves will be out. Big Ben himself has an actress for a girlfrined, yet you never hear about it because he takes care of business football wise and has been for years now. It's too easy to say Romo's head is not in football and he does nothing to dispel that myth or lack thereof on the field.
That's one way to look at it, I guess, but pardon me if I disagree. The media, some of the fans, and others made it all about Romo because its all about headlines these days, and what sounds better than "Romo is a choker?" Certainly not "The Cowboys lost." People have been piling all of the responsibility for squandering playoff appearances onto Romo and not the entire team. Why? Because you're right, it's easy. It's easy to say that his head isn't in the game because, well, actually taking the time to think about it and consider all of the factors takes work.

You're right. That was just my first reaction.

If anything it wouldn't hurt this forum to be a little more pg13 at times.

I just wish people wouldn't have antagonized the dude to leave.

He was cool and he hooked us up with a ton of local videos. Someone needs to get on the bat-phone pronto.

+1 for theebs.
-1 for anything that makes him want to stay away from CZ.

I loved the 90's teams but they are last people to talk about being spoiled! They had everything handed to them on a silver plater! And I do not mean the games played on the field...

Handed to them??! I disagree whole heartedly - they worked their butts off Jimmy Johnson did not like slackers and they all contributed at very critical times. SPOILED?! - you mean because they won and in return reaped rewards from the team, the fans and the league?

That is revisionist history - back to back Championships was not in any way easy. They returned to the NFC championship 4 years in a row!

To a man everyone on the field gave it up for the team. It was the free agency shift that ruined that major dynasty IMO, the players leapt at money but is that not a reward for success? Johnston had neck surgery, Aikman back, Emmitt shoulder and Irvin back, don't think the players all gave something up for a reward in return.

I'd like to think that the wisdom was from the mouth's of men who have matured but they seemed too prideful or revisionist to speak of their own self centeredness, greed and slothful work habits during their playing days.

Alvin Harper was from a big college program at Tennessee and very lazy when he was a player, he then bolted for millions of dollars in Tampa Bay so either he's grown up or he's delusional when he talks about today's players.

Dixon Edwards left Dallas after 19995 for big money in Minnesota and he left on bad terms to boot, bitter that Dallas didn't resign him.

Brown was somewhat reasonable, Lett kept hims mouth shut, Haley was his usual enigmatic self.

While I don't necessarily agree with all of their points, and Haley and Harper being quite hypocritical, I like this. If this cannot motivate guys on the team and if this cannot motivate Romo, then nothing will and we need to find somebody to replace these guys that do not raise their level of play in response to this. THIS is the type of stuff this team needs. They need to have their egos put in check on a contant basis and develop a 'us vs. the world' type of mentality and be thought of as the underdogs.

Again, I don't agree with everything they said, but I think it should be viewed as a good thing by Cowboys fans.

Many players from the 90's earned a right to criticize the current players. However, Alvin Harper isn't one of them. He was a very inconsistent receiver and he did not live up to his draft status. He also left the Cowboys for MONEY, so he has absolutely no right to talk about spoiled players today, even if he's right. Once he left and went to a less talented team, he didn't produce squat. Pot calling the kettle black.

Taking it and doing what with it?

Learn the English language, please. I believe the verb you were looking for is "following." Enjoy the military.

I know it's foreign to you bots
In what odd family/social situation did you grow up thinking telling someone to commit suicide meant you had a personality?
