On that first one you can see Landry backing out way too late, so he was never in good position. That could easily have been 11 more points for you guys.

I dunno - I think I like the way Hurd adjusts to the ball and his route-running isn't too shabby either. The kid just ain't blessed with game-breaking speed.
Ditto Crayton and he has the experience that makes me feel comfortable with him as a 3 or 4.

Austin looks like a speedy stiff - churn, churn, churn... I doubt he'll be here after next season - if he lasts THAT LONG.

I'd like to see more of Stanback next year. But it's def time to invest a top-shelf pick on the position. While TO is still huge, TG is living on borrowed time - and both are ancient by NFL standards.

Time to get wise...

Actually, there was probably at least 17 points left on the field, and you can say 21 if the Cowboys did not kick a field goal because they made a TD instead.

But, no excuses from me...your team won the game, that is all that matter, RIGHT NOW.

Your team is the one that has to travel that long road...hopefully your starting QB will be healthy for the playoffs.

He was dropping a lot of pass during warmups before the game. The Commander fans in one of the endzones was cheering with each drop.

:laugh2:I wouldn't mind seeing him instead of TO. And it is possible; I wouldn't put TOs chances of playing the first game at more than 50/50.

I dunno, hard to single out Austin when the entire offense was wretched. Before this game i don’t remember him dropping passes.

How many were ever thrown to him prior to this game?

It's a real occupational hazard to be a wide receiver and not be able to catch. Those were two awful drops.

Given the age of the starters...I think this is a great area of need going into the draft.

Crayton is a good number three....Hurd can be a good number three....

I think it's time to draft a wr and bring some young talent to the position.

The first drop would have been a big completion, not necessarily a touchdown because he'd have to make a move still after the catch. A bit of a stretch to say it would be a TD but it would have put you in FG range.

The second drop definitely was a blown TD.

It would have been a TD there was no defender deep and Austin has burner speed. He's plenty fast he just has hands of stone.

That would have been a TD.

LaRon Landry was going the other way, overplaying the ball and all he would have had to do was beat Fred Smoot in a foot race and I like Austin's chances in that race.

I am still confused as to why we didn't see Isaiah Standback in this game.

I think they handed the ball off to Tyson Thompson once.

They should have deactivated Patrick Crayton and let Stanback, Austin and Hurd play.

Austin was dropping passes in preseason to it really a shame cause a WR that can't catch is pretty useless
