It's a shame that Felix hasn't developed in the passing game. That should have been priority #1 for the coaches if he wasn't going to be featured in the offense as a runner.

I think he is more suited to be out wide.

Possibly that is the reason. Maybe the idea would be to have Kevin get more and more of Roy's snaps if he doesn't shape up and start making more plays.

I just hope that, in the long run, nothing that is done in the draft will keep them from seeing exactly what they've got in KO. I was really starting to like that kid by the end of the year.

okay, so from what I am reading in this thread.

This kid is an unproven commodity in both the return game and the receiving game.

can we just draft a kid who can play the things we need him too when we draft him and not get anymore projects?

I am at the point where I say **** potential.

I think people need to give Ogletree time to develop. Just a month ago Ray Sherman said he is not ready to be a featured WR. Coaches say these things for a reason. Usually it means they are not ready. I don't understand the rush people put on young players.

Miles Austin
Tony Romo
Bradie James

Has their development into top notch players gone completely un-noticed? Yet none of them were rushed. Ogletree doesn't have an expiration date that is ending in a year or two. What exactly is the rush?

I have never understood that.

If O-Tree is the player you and I hope he is, he will prove his worth no matter who we bring in. I am not comfortable putting all my eggs in the O-tree basket and hoping he comes through for us. We need another playmaker on offense to improve our scoring deficiencies. If it turns out to be KO great, if not, we need to draft someone just in case. I am all for Golden Tate, he is EXACTLY what this offense needs. Only problem is that he wont help our return game and I know we need someone there desperately.

Wingo kills me. What a sensationalist with all the talk of standards and what we expected out of him etc. What I expected of RW was a player would do as asked "quietly" and he did that. I did'nt expect a T.O. type of outing just just for him to be an asset as Mort says.

What this team desparately needs is offensive line depth. We could go into next season as-is at every other position and be fine in my eyes. We need to protect Tony and give him room to connect with who we have.

well I can let you know he was a stud all year and shook people like crazy with his route running abilities & has a great set of hands.. It would be pretty exciting if we drafted Ship, but you calling Ogletree a slouch like it and that Romo can make a nobody like him into something.. Romo isn't the reason Ogletree made this team, the dude worked his butt off and when given the chance always came in and took advantage of the few opportunities he had. Trust me, he will get better and better. Can't wait to see what Ogletree has to offer in 2010

Hope Otree works out but it has been posted that the coaches and Jones think the kid is lazy. That does not jive with your take that he is a hard worker. Have no idea which view is correct. Guess we will find out in September.

Jordan Shipley would be my best bet, but then again JJ always plucks a WR that no one expects. I doubt we can get Golden Tate.

So the Cowboys expcted him to come up with 38 catches and block well so they traded away a 1st, a 3rd and gave him $45 million?

I doubt it.

hahaha no kidding. I think a little bit more was expected of Roy than to block corners and to mind his own business.

I am saying Romo didn't make a nobody into something, he worked his butt off all offseason and in training camp and made this team b/c of what he did as an undrafted free agent, that to me showed a lot of dedication and grit & obviously the coaches liked what they saw... Now I don't know about what was going on throughout the whole season and I had never heard the word "lazy" to describe him, all I heard was Jerry rave about him all season about wanting to see him in live game action.

A lot of times people aren't complaining about a guy not being featured. A lot of the times we just want to see the guys used in some capacity.

Its hard for me to forget Felix Jones against Washington his rookie year @ Dallas.

It took forever to get Ogletree any meaningful snaps.

Miles Austin may still be a nobody if not for injury.

I just dont trust this staff sometimes to make the most out of what they have but I will say I saw a team take a different approach on that kind of stuff starting against New Orleans.

Mccluster's combine 40 time really upset me. I was expecting him to run a 4.3, not a 4.5, especially for a guys his size. I do think though he'd be basically impossible to cover in the slot and an adequate return man.

Shipley or Ford, Mark it down. I love Jacoby ford.

I would be thinking of another Tiger WR, but being here in the Carolina's it seemed his "knock" was inconsistent hands.

My thoughts are that when I saw him play nobody was able to catch the guy. I don't really care if his 40 time was off unless the new rules allow a guy to play in shorts and t shirts and the object is to run in a straight line. He passes the eyeball test in my book.
