I have no idea if Mort is correct in his thinking, but I really hope he is and I do hope that player comes from the draft.

There are some guys in this thing that could become very dynamic weapons in the slot should the Cowboys be looking to do so.

Here are a few names: Dexter McCluster from Ole Miss, Mardy Gilyard from Cincy, Golden Tate from Notre Dame, Jordan Shipley from Texas, Jacoby Ford from Clemson, Antonio Brown from Central Michigan.

All of those would be good fits IMO.

why not use ogletree. Hes fast/quick with good hands. Receivers dont usually come in and play a big roll anyway. Kevin should be just as good or better as any of those guys.

Shipley is what the offense needs desperately.
I don't think he'd be any better than Crayton in the slot IMO. He's not that quick.

And I don't want to count out Ogletree, because he is that quick and already a good route runner. Plus he has top end speed. Austin, Crayton, and OTree could be very, very explosive.

The more you hate on Shipley, the more I want him in Dallas... LOL...
And you're not a UT fan, particularly, either. . . .

History shows that Jerry doesn't really go for small, quick WR's and instead likes those bigger receives who are athletic. Miles Austin is a perfect model of a Jerry-type receiver.

I think they may give Marcus Easley a look.

Well, yeah, I'm a Horns fan... but I'm more a Sac-hater... if there was a Sooner he really disliked, I'd want him on the team too... :D

But this is a copy cat league and teams are looking for the smaller Wes Welker slot possession receivers to catch underneath routes. Get a couple of big, fast WR's that can stretch the field and have a quick little slot receiver running around underneath. That can make an offense hard to defend.

So the Cowboys expcted him to come up with 38 catches and block well so they traded away a 1st, a 3rd and gave him $45 million?

I doubt it.

If those 38 catches produced 7tds while allowing Miles Austin enough touches to get 11tds I'd say it's not as bad as you and others like Wingo would lead people to believe. You know damned well they didn't expect TO's production out of him and how could they? They wanted the opportunity to get the other wr's more touches and that happened.

I'm sure most people would take Minny's Rice over RW but the fact is RW got only 1 less td's than Rice while getting only half the touches. Would I like him to explode and go for 1000 yds and 15tds? sure I would but RW is definately not the scrub he's made out to be.

That's true, although maybe Jerry wouldn't mind having another Kevin Williams type. Terry Glenn was a heck of a player too.

**** myself if we got McCluster . wow. Shipley would be a nice second of third round risk. . McCluster and Jones on the same field. NICE. 3 wide 2 backs Jones and barber. Austin Williams McCluster. We could really do some damage if Garrett wouldnt call a freaking screen .

edit, that would be an acceptable formation for a screen with jones and McCluster.

What would really make our offense unstoppable is drafting offensive linemen!!!

Has everybody forgot the Minny playoff game??? We didnt lose the game because we our slot WR sucks, we lost the game because we couldnt block worth a dam.

Give Romo 1 extra second when he drops back and our offense will rival that of the Saints.

Agree, but I wouldn't mind adding a little speed to the WR position if given the opportunity, especially if they could also perform the KR/PR role.

McCluster would be a great pick. Can you imagine a poor man's Chris Johnson type of player in this offense? An explosive player like that is what Dallas needs.

Shipley would be an immediate contributor at slot WR as well as in the return game. I doubt there are many who actually watched him play a lot in college or watched a lot of film on him who wouldnt want Shipley on the team. I guarantee you that his stock is rising with most of those who have been scouting him.

When it comes to linemen, I hope Dallas addresses that mostly in free agency, although they need to draft some as well.

A dynamic slot receiver sounds good to me. I pretty much agree with what most these guys have to say in the video.
