Start Johnson. We don't know which Rams were going to get. If things go bad, and Romo can play, then try him out. But if Johnson starts and has a good quarter / first half, I don't see the point.

That's what I was thinking. Let Romo suit up and if Johnson and the offense struggle, you can put him in.

But I have the feeling that Romo wants to start.

He can can be on the receiving end of a bad hit to his knees and tear his ACL... anything can happen. if you can play, then play.

its the rams this week... long sigh... I say he sits at least this week and let Johnson play. If we cant beat the rams with T.O. R.W. Witten and barber and Johnson at quarterback we got way way more serious probs then Romo's finger for christ sakes. Let Romo not take one snap. Throw a little. Work with R.W. throwing some... evaluate next week this time.

Tex

Look at his throws (unless it is a loop and it is one throw).

But his throw seems to have a high arc. Not the zip that you look for in the NFL.

Lastly, THESE ARE THE RAMS, NOT THE FREAKING GIANTS.

Rest him, let the pinkie heal, ferchristsakes!

Tony Romo tested his injured throwing hand today at practice. Here's the video.

he looks good to me, put him in Wade.

For those worried about him getting hit again, its the freaking Rams. If our massive O-line cant keep the freaking Rams off Romo, then we got alot bigger problems.

That just shows you how much heart he has and his love for the game. but to be safe we should wait till next week to unleash romo with our new set up.

I don't understand why ppl r being chicken littles over him playing. I would think the team doctors n tony will make the right call without the world coming to an end if he hits it on a helmet or takes a hard snap or falls in yogurt! WOW if brett farve can do it why can't Romo?

Romo's hand...

ESPN showed an extended clip during the 5 o'clock hour today. Romo's balls had a huge, huge wobble to them, and they were practicing indoors, right?

Man that was funny.

I know there is a huge risk.

But the guys in here saying that it's just the Rams remind me of the players who showed up the last three weeks thinking that just because they were the Cowboys they were going to win.

Bad Johnson is the backup for a reason.

This team can't afford a loss right now.

You do whatever you can to win football games and Romo is this team's QB so if he can go then he should go.

:laugh2: Didn't even notice I typed it that way. Oops.

At least he stood erect while spraying the field with, umm, his passes.

This team can't afford Johnson for the rest of the season either. ;)

See the part in bold. If he's bad, that's the reason.:laugh2:

Hmmmm. I don't know DC. Brad Johnson is a backup for a reason and if we are not confident enough in him to beat the Rams, then we should cut him right now.

I would rather have Johnson in the game now because of the obvious risks to Tony but also, it would force Jason "Bombs Away" Garrett to actually try to get our running game on track. With Tony in the game he tends to rely on the passing game too much.

I would at least let Brad go this week and if he really sucks, then we try Tony. The problem with that is if Tony hurts his hand again, we have to go back to Brad again and that will not look good or be good for the team overall.

Tough choice but I say sit Tony this week and see how Brad does. If he sucks, let Tony play next week and let the chips fall where they may.

our line will work hard to keep him untouched
If it takes a broken finger for our oline to work hard to keep Him untouched then someone get this sorry lard Arse Oline out of Big D. That is their job!. Do that every single game. PERIOD!

This is the perfect spot to simply let Brad play and let Tony have at least a week of rest for the finger. There simply is no reason to risk him against the Rams.

Love his toughness, love his willingness, and I admire the heck out of the fact that he wants to be in there and show why he's a leader but the smart move here is to simply let him simply sit this one out.
