Really? They invented this thing called a fumble a few years back. You should look into it. It happens from time to time.

It takes more than "two feet down" to make a completed pass.

Two feet down, and ball movement will get you an incomplete pass.

So, are we playing next week?

If the answer is "no"...it was a catch.

No one is blaming the game on that play... well I'm not anyway.

The point is they looked at the replay and blew the call.

Sorry if we want a game called right.

regardless of whether it was a catch or not, can't a team only review one item of a play? I thought that Dallas reviewed whether it was a safety, so the refs couldnt look at the catch. I could be completly wrong, I always was under the impression that that was the rule though.

I heard 2 things...

1 was they review the whole play... which I thought was wrong.

And 2 you have be specific... I also blamed BP for not challenging the catch.

He hasnt surprised me though with his typical bonehead calls.

So we cant talk about anything that has happened in our past games?

Sooo... how bout them Yankees, I guess?

:banghead:

By all means discuss all you want. I think the point Juke was making is this discussion over one play won't change the fact we aren't playing next week.

I just happen to agree with him. That don't happen to often.:D

I wasnt either.

If we want to get real technical though we shouldnt have any dicussions on a specific player either than since we lose as a team.

Might get real quiet around here though if stopped talking about specifics.

Oh well... I'll be done with this thread

The point is...the ball hits the ground.

The ball moves when it hits the ground.

That makes it an incomplete pass.

I think it's a simple call.

everyone dwells on this one play. the real problem was the officiating. We had 4 PI/Defensive Holding calls and one was even close to legit. The one that spotted the ball on the 1yd line was incredibly and inexcusably bad. I can't believe the media hasn't said anything about the biased officiating in the game. Adam Schein went on Sirius today and was talking about how good the referee and crew did in the game and I almost choked on my big mac.

If you do have to be specific, as you say, by challenging only one part of the play (which I think is how it works), then Parcells did the right thing by challenging the touchdown instead of the catch. If he loses the challenge of the catch, he loses 7 points, because they're not even going to look at what happened in the EZ and the play stands as a TD.

You had a foot stepping out of bounds in the EZ, so that was clear-cut evidence. The catch/non-catch wasn't nearly as conclusive.

Why is it always complaining just because it goes against what the horrid officiating crew determined?

I'm sick of poor officiating.

Incomplete pass as I suspected when I first saw it.

It doesnt matter.

If it doesnt get punched out and he jukes the guy taking it 98 to the house.. but then it gets called back for being incomplete.. we'd just be arguing that it WAS a catch. ;)

No, the same video would be posted as evidence that he did indeed catch the ball. That is just a fact.

Stop that WHINING.

We arent allowed to discuss official calls on the field.

I feel like its the real NFL around here sometimes.

But seriously... it happened in the past and we cant talk about it

The ironic thing is if Glen had faked out the defender and ran 98 yards for the TD, I'm almost 100% positive Seattle would have challenged the catch, and it would have been overturned! Or as soon as Glenn got passed the defender, they would have started blowing their whistles and called the play dead! That's how biased the officiating crew was yesterday.

Regardless of the outcome, I would have still thought it was an incomplete pass because it was.

Yeah thats what I was going to say.

But there also has to be a mechanism I would think where even if the ref was only asked to look at one aspect (because thats all thats allowed), if the other aspect of the same continuation was rather clear also while he was at it, he would be compelled to rule on it. When it's something else that would otherwise be reviewable in and of itself, obviously.. not like he happened to notice a hold or something. ;)

Otherwise asking a coach to just pick 1 of the 2 that screws him the least.. well.

Ball was slick. Glenn didn't fumble. TNew didn't hook that guy's arm.

Loser talk.
