He went to San Diego after that. Not sure if he is still there. Actually, just checked and he is not. He actually would be a decent replacement for Swaim. If not, let's see what Rico's got. He has a big body. Should be able to block some.

He went to San Diego but was waived.
Article said Hanna and Ricco both not ready.

Yeah, Hanna's injury has sure lingered.

Broaddus says Rico has improved a lot....I would assume that Escobar will more or less take over Swaim's spot with Gathers taking over for Escobar.

Traylor may still be the best option. Knows the offense and was a pretty well rounded guy. Pretty clear that Gathers was kept over him due to potential because Traylor was better overall.

You have to be able to trust a player and while IDK about Rico my guess is they don't. Look for Traylor. He's a serviceable backup IMO.

What's Owen Daniels doing. Let's sign that dude or let Escobar try to block. Either way

We must carry at least three TEs on the roster. Maybe 3 with an H or Fback.

I am about out of trust in Escobar, he was my pet cat in the Draft but that ship has sailed. He has great hands for catching IMO not a dedicated blocker more of a get in the way type technique. I am also surprised at how quickly he has come back from his achilles injury from last year. That injury used to take a year to recover. Barry Church was on the one year plan when he had what I think was a similar achilles injury. Escobar is on his final year contract and he has a mustache that must be seen.

He looks like a sleazy bandito from an old Clint Eastwood movie. Not a flattering look, imho.

I think he also has something hanging from the mustache like a beads on both sides. I could never grow a tache that thick or full. He is a new father and I wish him the best.

My point is that they would likely promote somebody from the ps that has been learning the scheme, not a guy they cut in training camp.

you may be right.
both witten and escobar play the y primarily.
i think he is a h back, and mayle may be less than ideal for the position unless he gained weight.
not sure about smith though.
not sure how smith's blocking compares.

Traylor was a good inline blocker but struggled with the more complicated assignments (move blocking, H-back type of stuff where scheme knowledge is more critical than ability).

I would promote Rico before some bottom feeder signs him to their active roster

He has to want to leave and other team has to pay him more to convince him to leave. JJ is already paying him as if he is on the roster.

Next man up is the new slogan for the Dallas Cowboys. I swear, if you play any position, you'd better be ready to play. Brown has stepped in for Mo, done an excellent job. If you're not ready, you'll be replaced.
