Tennessee has already announced that they would take him if he came out. New Orleans is going to take Leinart and the Texans, Bush.

Are you sure about that? I follow the Titans closely, and I have seen nothing like that. McNair does have ties with Young and said he'd like to play with him, but that's about all I've heard.

Texas Big 12 champ beat the number one pac 10 team and the number 2 Big 10 team

Tech Big 12 south 2nd played Alabama SEC West lost 13-10

Missouri Big 12 North 2nd place beat SEC East 2nd South Carolina

Nebraska Big 12 North 3rd beat Big 10 3rd place team overall

Oklahoma Big 12 3rd place South beat the 2nd place Pac 10 (10-1)team

Colorado Big 12 North champ lost to Clemson 2nd place team in the ACC Coastal

Iowa State Big 12 North 4th placed team lost to TCU 10-1 (11th ranked team)

So keep chanting how bad the BIG 12 really was outside of Texas there were no other "great" teams but the Big 12 was far from weak

Ranked teams

ACC - 5
SEC - 5
Big 12 - 4
PAC 10 - 4
Big 10 - 3
Big East 2

You are correct.
Like I stated (lol, maybe not too well) depends on the coach.

I understood your initial point cbz, I just wanted to point it out that all programs have down years, obviously the better programs cut down on that.

Your a Big XII homer, just like all your other cronies. I can't argue with all of you about the Mighty Big II. Take it from an outsider who could care less about ANY conference, the Big XII stunk and all your fancy stats above don't prove otherwise.

Well just from my POV, your opinion would be worth something if you could back it up with some type of factual statements, rather than a baseless opinion.

I could say USC has a talentless crew that is poorly coached. Now being from Virginia and caring less about the PAC-10, does that mean it's actually true?

good, I don't wish any ill will on Vince, he's a great college QB and seems to be a classy guy. I just don't think he'll do well in the NFL. I think Tennessee would be a good place for him as they have a great coach who is used to having a QB with a VY type game.

It will be nice to see OU getting back to owning Texas.

I'm a big 12 guy and I thought that the Big 12 was embarassingly bad this year....until bowl season rolled around. Turned out that the rest of the country wasn't all that great either. Big 12 did pretty well against the other conferences. I think the Pac 10 and Big 10 were worse than thought.
I think the SEC and Big 12 turned out to be the toughest conferences.

And unfortunately, the Aggies still probably wont compete.

You guys need to start making some noise down there about him. The Aggies have a bunch of talent but the results are just not there...kind of like the 2005 Dallas Cowboys.....

We look to finally have an actual leader at QB, McNeal had all the talent in the world, could have easily been as good as VY, but just didnt have Young's drive and heart. McGee has that will to win.

Also, we fired Torbush and his "bend then let them score" defense

Yeah, I was debating with a Texas Tech guy the other day. He didnt think A&M was getting better recruits than Texas Tech.

Since 2000, you guys have hade 22 players selected in the NFL Draft and in 2003, had the most players selected in Day 1, with 5.

One of my Co-workers has been a season ticket holder for years and he is still on the Franchione Bandwagon. But I say if you guys continue to slide, man something has gotta be done.

And I know it isnt popular now, but I still say Mcneal is every bit as good as Young..the chips didnt fall his way...

I thought the Big 12 was pretty poor all season also, but once bowl season rolled around it showed that the Big 10 and Pac 10 were worse..... The ACC and SEC were the top conferences.

I still think Franchione can get it done, people forget that we had 12 freshman/sophmores either starting or getting signifigant playing time. We also played very well against the two best teams on our schedule at the end of the year, we were a penalty away from beating OU in Norman and gave Texas their toughest game, behind tOSU, of the season.

We have an easy schedule next year, if we don't win at least 8-9 games, I think changes will have to be made. I mean, our toughest road game outside of Texas is Kansas, and we get OU, Tech and Nebraska at home.

And McNeal is arguably more athletic than Young, but isnt as tough and goes down too easily. McNeal has a great arm though, and if a team with a good system picks him up, he could be something in this league.

I sure thought when A&M got him that they'd be bumping shoulders with OU and Texas for the big 12 South title.

I've been shocked about how poor they've been. I just can't believe the talent at A&M was that poor under RC, if it was then RC was one hell of a coach.

Texas A&M has had 3 top 10 recruiting classes the last 4 years. We have as much talent as anyone in the nation, we should be competing for the Big 12 and a BCS bowl every year.

We just had a sorry arse D-Coordinator and a crappy offensive scheme. Both have been changed and hopefully we can get back to winning 10-11 games a year.

Party boy Matt Leinart would be the toast of the rebuilt Bourbon St. He'd be sloppily groping young girls for years to come.

Just based on meaningless Bowl games? The only game that meant anyhing was the Rose, those other games mean squat.

:laugh2:

How many times has A&M won 11 games in a season? I'm not even sure, but it can't be too many. They've been playing football there for a long, long time and I can't believe they've won 11 games very many times.

Texas A&M (Im sure you will burst out laughing, but I dont care)

All those schools are every bit as good as Notre Dame and 80% of them have huge hotbeds of talent in their own backyard....especially the Texas schools.

That's hilarious. You've listed some decent programs there(minus A&M) and all(minus A&M) have had a better last decade than Notre Dame, but that wasn't my point. Sure these teams football teams are "every bit as good as Notre Dame", but that wasn't my point. The question was what is the best head coaching job in college football? ND football is one of the best head coaching jobs in the country, NCAA or NFL. If ND wins in football, the head coach will be just as well known as the President. It's true. I understand this list is your personal preference though. No doubt Texas, Florida, California and Ohio are stocked with High School talent year in and year out. That has nothing to do with ND though. ND recruits nationally, they obviously don't rely on instate recruits. Also, on the rosters of just about all those schools you listed are tons of kids that ND couldn't even recruit, because they wouldn't get past admissions. It's true, ND has certain standards. That will not stop Charlie Weis though. You'll see.

The facts are this. The Big XII is in a down year when Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas A&M are all having down years. What more do you need?

You're just a ACC homer. And yes, the Pac-10 was weak this year and always is. Historically Big XII > Pac-10.

Glenn no one is trying to say the big 12 was great this yr, but you just seem to want to trash it as terrible and I'm just not buying that. My biggest problem with the big 12 this yr was there scheduling out of conference games.

Texas Tech played the weakest non conference schedule in the country.

Texas played OSU but that's unusual and there are no plans to do it again (other than 2006) Texas always plays Rice and for some reason they schedule Arkansas often, those are somewhat traditional things.

OU played TCU and UCLA, TCU just happened to be a good football team OU didn't expect them to be that good when they scheduled it.

A&M had Clemson and no one else

That's my big disappointment about the big 12 this year
