The Tennessee Titans’ quarterback depth chart hasn’t changed. Kerry Collins is still the starter, and Vince Young remains the backup.

During an interview with WMAR-TV, Young said that if he doesn’t win back his old job, then he wants a change of scenery.

“I definitely want to get back out there playing ball and picking up where I left off, winning games and having a good time with my teammates and with the fans,” Young said. “At the same time, if them guys don’t want me to be in there, it’s time for me to make a career change for myself. Because the fact is I’m ready to play ball. If they’re not ready for me to play ball, then somebody is.”

During the offseason, Titans coach Jeff Fisher declared that Young would have to “earn his job back” to overtake Collins.

In three games and one start last season, Young threw one touchdown with two interceptions as Collins led the Titans to the AFC South division title.

For his career, the former University of Texas star has completed 57.3 percent of his throws for 4,964 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions for a 68.8 quarterback rating.

“I’m still focused, staying focused,” Young said. “I got a lot of people that look up to me. I got a lot of fans that love me and want to see me back out on the football field.

“So, right now, I’m just taking it a day at a time. I ’m being very competitive, competing for the job and just let Coach Fish make his own decision after that.”

:lmao2: The nerve. The unbelievable nerve.

The Titans would LOVE for you to play, Vince. You think they prefer paying you a ton of money to sit on the bench while starting an old journeyman like Kerry Freakin' Collins!?

You're on the bench because you suck. Plain and simple. You suck, Vince.

Stop sucking (on the field and on your pacifier) and they'll let you play.

It's really that simple, you thin-skinned crybaby of a bust.

That was my first thought, stop sucking and you'll play. Nimrod! :bang2:

Also, the fact that a journeyman like Collins could have such a great year shows that that team has a LOT of talent on offense and should be able to give Young all the help he needs yet he STILL can't get on the field. They ought to move him to RB and use him in the "Wildcat" formation but they won't.

Well if he's tired of the bench he can return to the bleachers, maybe that will satisfy him.

Parcells once said, Young's physical abilities reminded him of Randall Cunningham. I used to really fear Cunningham, whenever we played against him, whether at home or on the road it didn't matter. He could take over a game and he played with a
passion.

Parcells might have set the bar too high.

Preach the truth, Brother.

Over the years I've hit on some and missed on some, some badly.

Young was one I was dead on about.

Total waste of a roster spot.

There's probably a CFL or Arena League team awaiting for him.

He would probably be great in the CFL. His style fits their game better than the NFL.

Maybe, but he is still an awful passer.

Did he actually graduate from UT? Does he have any eligablity left? The Longhorns might bring him back to Austin to sell tickets and cause a faux controversy with Colt McCoy.:D;)

He's not going to be the starter in Tenn or anywhere else I don't think.

Didn't he make noise about quitting or not wanting to play anymore last year or the year before? Sounds like he doesn't have a lot of heart.

Then learn how to throw the football. All the guy can do is run. Demand for those guys is over.

Did he think they were starting Collins to punish him or send him a message? If so, what an ego.

The Longhorn offense has, for the most part, eliminated the zone read component under which Vince Young thrived. Consequently, despite his legendary exploits as a Texas quarterback, Young would face a very daunting task having to unseat Colt McCoy, who's rapidly establishing his own place in the annals of Longhorn history.

In fact, McCoy may go down as the best passer to every play at the University of Texas:D

I still believe Young has a chance in the NFL. He will turn out to be a good player when it is all said an done, maybe even hall of fame. JMO.

Maybe. He'll need to acquire a brain and a heart first, though.

Jack the Scarecrow and the Tinman, Vince! I don't think Oz shows up on MapQuest.

a lot of overanalyzing going on. The only thing Young really needs is more experience. That is the most important thing for an NFL QB

As far as the comments...personally, I liked the comments. Im glad to see some swagger from Vince again. He wants to play, and he wants to win. That is what Titans fans should WANT from their QBs. Do people want him to say he has no problem holding a clipboard?

Young went out of his way to say all of the right things all season and all Spring, and people still jumped all over him every chance they got. Now he says something with some spice and people jump all over him. It doesnt matter lol

Know young needs better mechanics and his throwing is awful which i stated was going to be an issue in the NFL. Until he gets better at that and reading defenses it is pointless to think he will ever be a good qb.
