Young has stated he wants to compete. It was Kerry Collins who stated emphatically that either he was going to be handed the starting job or he wasnt going to sign. It was Collins that stated he doesnt want to have to compete for his job, but you dont hear people going overboard and overanalyzing everything Collins says.

That was my first thought, stop sucking and you'll play. Nimrod! :bang2:

Also, the fact that a journeyman like Collins could have such a great year shows that that team has a LOT of talent on offense and should be able to give Young all the help he needs yet he STILL can't get on the field. They ought to move him to RB and use him in the "Wildcat" formation but they won't.

Chris Johnson made a big difference for that offense. Young did not have Chris Johnson or any other playmakers in his two years as the starter. Young only had "2 yards and a cloud of dust" LenDale White

Know young needs better mechanics and his throwing is awful which i stated was going to be an issue in the NFL. Until he gets better at that and reading defenses it is pointless to think he will ever be a good qb.

yet Young had a higher completion percentage than Collins and the same amount of passing yards. The big difference was INTs.

Young's INTs in his second year came from like you said reading defenses mainly...and that comes from experience, or lack of experience. Having players like Chris Johnson and better receivers wont hurt either.

ZB9, you were a Vince fan when he was a Longhorn, weren't you? Sure sounds like it.

His "play me or trade me" stance shows that he believes it's the Titans keeping him on the bench, and not his own mediocre play.

It appears he hasn't grown up a bit.

That's immaturity. That's refusing to hold yourself accountable and refusing to take responsibility for one's own failures.

Is Vince really that stupid? Does he REALLY think there's an NFL team out there ready to trade for him and hand him a starting job?

Like I said... the Titans would LOVE for Vince to take the necessary step forward in his career and seize the job from Kerry Collins. They've invested lots of money and resources (like the 3rd pick overall) into his potential for success.

To blame them (which is what Vince is doing) for Vince not playing is incredibly short-sighted and flat-out moronic.

The WR where virtually the same and Justin Gage was of and on injured

The only difference was Chris Johnson and the Titians are a running team they throw less than most teams. Collins also throws the ball away and did not run out of plays and make a throw he was never that type of QB.

Vince is not a good passer and teams just stack the box on them and it is going to get worse before it gets better. Leftwich ultimately failed as a QC because he never corrected his sloppy mechanics and I see the same with Vince

Being a pro is a lot different then in college. Your whole attitude has to change and Vince Young has not figured that out. Texas is well known for pampering their players and many have had a problem transitioning to the pros. Its a job now and you have to work at it 12 months of the year just like most jobs.
VInce young showed little if any improvement from year to year. He has to make huge strides in reading the D and passing to be a good pro. So far he has not shown the dedication and discipline to be one.

Yeah, Vince is pretty much the NFL's equivalent of "Fragile" Frankie Merman from Seinfeld.

The guy Jerry went to summer camp with and who would run into the woods to hide in a hole (that he would dig himself) anytime he got upset.

Didn't Vince go into hiding for a night last year after he got benched? LOL.

"His mother, Felicia Young, also told a local newspaper that the quarterback had indicated he didn’t want to play football anymore because of all the negativity he faced."

LOL.

"Questions about his mental state and attitude started Sunday when the third-year quarterback was booed heavily by fans upset at his second interception, and he appeared as if he didn’t want to return to the game. Fisher pulled his headset off and talked to him before the quarterback joined the rest of the offense."

LOL.

"Young didn’t go to the Titans’ headquarters Monday, and Fisher went to his quarterback’s house. The Titans also sent a psychologist and another team official to talk with Young. He was described as being emotionally down. Young said Thursday that lasted half a day and he was upset over his two interceptions."

LOL.

Yeah, you'd have to be CRAZY to question this dude's heart!

I don't get why a player being unhappy about sitting on the bench is news. What player wants to be a backup?

That's exactly what I thought Kangaroo. When he got drafted and got into Tenn, he was doing an interview and he said he's so glad they didn't want to mess with his throwing motions... I said whoa, that's going to be an issue sometime. He had a magical rookie year at the end of the year because he caught some defenses by surprise by his running, but they soon figured out how to stop him, keep him in the pocket and keep him passing. He certainly needs to get to work. Overtime chunking the rock is the only way to get your job back Vince. GIT R DONE:laugh1:

I think Young will eventually turn out to be a good NFL QB. He's got so much physical ability... once he learns how to read NFL defenses better, he can finally utilize it. I don't think he'll be great though. He's thin-skinned and immature. The mental aspect is going to hold him back and that's just as important as your physical ability/skill. I hope in a couple of years and with a change of scenery he will finally pan out.
