The Longhorn offense has, for the most part, eliminated the zone read component under which Vince Young thrived. Consequently, despite his legendary exploits as a Texas quarterback, Young would face a very daunting task having to unseat Colt McCoy, who's rapidly establishing his own place in the annals of Longhorn history.

In fact, McCoy may go down as the best passer to every play at the University of Texas

I always flip on the TV in my office in morning as I'm prepping to leave. This morning, I caught the latest sit-down, "lets be honest now" interview with Young.

It's clear that now, after a couple of troubling go 'rounds this spring with the press, that he's been given a very short leash and a list of talking-points to abide by. Probably from his agent more so than the Titans.

He's very inarticulate and wrestles with the English language. He said all the right things about being a Titan, a team player, wants to contribute, being patient, and basically intending on being a good little well behaved Titan. But he made sure that after saying every correct thing he's been TOLD to say, he made it clear that the caveat to all this is that "I'm the starter".

Vince Young is right where he needs to be. As a back-up. The guy is athletic, no one can deny it, but quite frankly he's shown he doesn't have the mental makeup required to be even an above average NFL QB. he worries too much about what people think, and say about him, he cries about them booing him, he's a wuss and he's just flat not a good QB.
