For those of you that claim not to be nervous, let me drop these names.

*Marc Bulger had his first NFL action against us. He nearly beat us...had a great game.

*Jake Delhomme got his first extended playing time against us when he was with the Saints. He beat us.

*Jeff Blake made his first NFL start against our very good 94' team. He very nearly beat us.

*Eli Manning looked like crap against the rest of the NFL his rookie year...but his first win was against us.

*Ben Roethlisberger beat us.

*David Carr beat us in his first game, behind a terrible line, with no running game, or decent WRs.

*Heath Shuler beat us in 95'....yes, he beat our last SB team....

Conventional wisdom says that Young has NO CHANCE....but when it comes to teams playing the Cowboys, you throw convention out the window. We're going to get everyone's greatest effort.

I'm very, very nervous about this game now. VR has been a circus this week. We have two WRs with sliced up hands. Their WRs are big and strong (like the Jax WRs), they have a talented triumverate of RBs.....

It's going to be tough tomorrow....don't kid yourselves.

A voice of reason. But don't expect the homers to pay attention.:)

Vince is still too raw right now to give Dallas a good game. I think he will be an outstanding QB in a few years, but our D should shut him down and force him into some bad throws...and I am a huge VY fan...

Crap .... thats all we need ...... for them to get a spark.

I'd rather face Young at this point. He'll be easily confused with the coverages.

Hey, I'm sure he'll snap off a couple runs for 1st downs but I don't see him beating us with his arm.

Who cares if the homers pay attention or not?

I hope the freaking players are paying attention! Us fans don't mean a thing...!

Hey, I'm happy with this. Kerry Collins has a record of kicking our *****, no matter what team he's on. I'd prefer to show Vince Young what it's like to get hit by Roy, despite the fact that I like VY.

Good post, but Marc Bulger did not playta against us in the 2002 game that was Jamie Martin. Bulger was the emergency QB that game.

this sucks, as many know or as u can tell by my sig i'm a huge fan of VY and hate to have to root against him tomorrow. He is going to be a star one day but right now he is still a rookie and so we should be able to beat him.
although those thinking that this game is now easier because Collins isnt starting are really mistaken. With Collins i was expecting to get at least 4 sacks against him because he has a bad O-line and not many playmakers except for maybe Givens. now with Vince we have to worry about him running with the ball or also buying himself extra time and finding an open WR that maybe initially was very well covered. We better open big against them or this will be a close game because you can expect the crowd to be excited and loud getting to watch Vince Young's first NFL start.

Even though i'm hoping he loses tommorrow just cause its against us, i'm really excited to be able to watch the beginning of whats going to be a magnificent HOF career for Vince Young.

Wow. A little early maybe?

I think we'll have more opportunity to get at the QB with Young in there. Collins has only been sacked four times in three games behind that ailing OL. He's been using a three step drop to get rid of the ball before anyone can get to him. VY will more likely be prone to Rookie mistakes...i.e. holding on to the ball to long. His nerves are going to make him leave the pocket too early. IMO, its gong to be a long day for the rookie.

Vince Young will be the Titans' starting quarterback in Week 4.

The former Texas star becomes the Titans' fourth different quarterback in the past six regular season games.

i hate it just because we know what we have with collins. young could be dangerous and good, or he could suck. i bet parcells hates it, more preparation.

of course its early but its only an opinion of what i think is gonna happen. there is a lot of people that also think he's going to be a bust and its also very early to be saying that. but i do agree that he will probably struggle tomorrw but still i think he gives them a much better chance to win than Collins does

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. VY = more sacks for us.

Guess that means the Titans have already called it a season.

It will be at least 2 years (IMO), before Young can be a consistent good NFL QB.

*Marc Bulger had his first NFL action against us. He nearly beat us...had a great game. Nope. His first game was two weeks later vs. Oakland.

*Jake Delhomme got his first extended playing time against us when he was with the Saints. He beat us. Not according to NFL.com. He played us midway through his third season (he started all 16 games), and lost...with a 37.5 completion %.

*Jeff Blake made his first NFL start against our very good 94' team. He very nearly beat us. You sure? Per NFL.com: He lost his first start against us 24-7. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1017/gamelogs/2002

*Eli Manning looked like crap against the rest of the NFL his rookie year...but his first win was against us. Correct. He still sucks.

*Ben Roethlisberger beat us. Correct. But not because of his play, but rather his team. He had one great play.

*David Carr beat us in his first game, behind a terrible line, with no running game, or decent WRs. Correct, but again, it wasn't because Carr did anything. He had 10 completions.

*Heath Shuler beat us in 95'....yes, he beat our last SB team.... I'll have to take your word for it. '95 was my freshman year of college = i don't recall much from that year.

Conventional wisdom says that Young has NO CHANCE....but when it comes to teams playing the Cowboys, you throw convention out the window. We're going to get everyone's greatest effort.

Where did ou get your information? I'm not sure how reliable NFL.com's stats are, but you seem to be a bit off according to them. They don't include playoff games on those game logs, so maybe thats where my information is off. I'd like to know if that is the case.

They can give their greatest effort...we'll still win.

David Carr was pretty raw too when he beat the Cowboys in 2001, Roy's rookie year.

But I tend to agree with most of the posters here, this is not a Dave Campo led Cowboy team devoid of talent. This team has been billed as playoff contenders, and playoff contenders don't lose to bad football teams - no matter who the quarterback is.

Fisher is running the white flag up the pole. All Zimmer has to do is keep VY in the pocket, and I guarantee you he will not be able to figure out a great defense like ours. If he is allowed to run, thats a different story. But not by much.

It's not like our defense is hard to figure out: on third down the slant is always there and so are the flats and underneath. Its not cause we blitz the linebackers, either.

Vince Young starting could be a nightmare for us with our not being able to bring pressure well and Young being so elusive.
