Exactly ...... I just saved myself some frustration and put the troll on ignore.

He is obviously only here to try and stir up crap.

Why is everyone a 'Troll' with you? People cant have an opinion about something without you labeling people 'Trolls'.

Quit being an 'Internet Gangsta' playa...

I like it more because with the pressure we should be generating it gives QB little options and stops those little dump off routes and should force more turn over if we are playing bump and run that would mess up timing at the LoS. You also have to understand I'm not suggesting we don't have safety help over top. However it would be nice to see a CB not playing 10 yards off the Los.....

Now I agree with the fact that the CBs should not be playing off so much.

You are seriously a taint....

Why you think that, I have no idea. Just because I have a friend who is an Eagles fan who posts on here during the week.... I am an Eagles fan?

I wish mods could check IP's so I could shove that up your rear.. You might like that though....

can you answer my questions????
Yes or no. Do you know if it's more successful? I asked you a question.

I think most of the people, that think our defense is bad, are thinking that with all the probowlers on our defense that we should be able to get better more consistent pressure on qb's. I tend to agree. Think about our front 7: DWare, Ellis, Canty, Spears, Ratliff, Tank, ZTack and Then add in the secondary: TNew, Hamlin, AJones...not counting the rookies... we should be able to get to quarterbacks. But we don't. Don't talk about the two sacks at the end of the game. Donovan had to pass and he had to stay there until something opened up. Earlier, we couldn't get there or bring him down. He had 5,6,7 seconds to throw the ball! This is an attacking defense? If our offense wasn't so great we would be 3 and 15 over the last 2 years. Sorry but our defense sucks and that is what Phillips was brought here to fix. Jason Garrett is for the offense and he's done his job so Wade needs to do his.

I asked you a question however you keep cherry picking my comments and feel the need to only answer where you deem it necessary.

Bull****. Answer the question. You want to play more man coverage. Do you know whether it's more succesful? Answer the question. Do you?

You don't. You don't have a clue.

Is this a valid discussion or a bicker fest?

That question should be the sub text to every new thread on this board recently.

It depends on the match up and who we are going up against IMO. Different schemes are more successful during different points in time. On monday against a rookie WR we should have been on the LoS of scrimmage and jamming him forcing him to get off the jam especially consider how small and undersized he is. However for wR like TO Randy Moss and the other big fast strong WR zone is preferred. Also even though Jackson is a rookie he still is fast and he showed us his speed while we were getting toasted in zone.

However with guys like newman pacman and henry we should be able to play man and not get beat badly. I have no problem with leaving newman on an island by himself. Now will you answer my question.......

I agree that different schemes can be more successful against different things, but you're just showing your lack of knowledge here. You don't line up and use tight man coverage against a smallish receiver with huge speed with a QB that throws a great deep ball.

What Donovan has a problem with is the short underneath routes. He can't complete them on a consistent basis. He's simply not able to consistently chip his way down the field and score a TD. So what's the best strategy for that scenario?

I like Wade......don't like Stewart.....however, to be fair.....Wade is responsible for this D and I am not happy with it right now.

take away the deep ball obv. However rookie WR have trouble fighting off the press if we pressed with safety help over top we could have made him Jackson invisible.

Actually, when Wade took the San Diego job, he said bump-and-run was more successful:

On whether it’s your preference to play bump and run:
“That’s the way you play if you can because you’re going to cut down the number of passes they catch. I’m big on percentages of defense and if you can bump and run, if you get a Ty Law that can bump and run their best receiver and shut them down, you certainly can play better. If you have those kinds of people, you certainly want to utilize them and one of the ways you utilize them is to play some bump and run.”

We aren't playing that much bump-and-run from what I've seen... Even with the likes of a Newman, who can clearly cover the best a team has to offer, he's playing lots of zone.

And its mind boggling that he doesn't really use it. Maybe because of Terrence Newman isnt 100%? Who knows. The defense needs to tighten up and they probably will. But it looks like the same defense as last year and these guys have had time in this scheme to figure it out.

I believe the reason why Wade is playing more zone now is b/c of the injuries. Newman isn't 100% and is only playing the nickel for now. Pacman is just getting back into the swing of things. Spencer has been hobbled.

Seriously-you can only play with the cards you are dealt with. Just wait another month or so 'till we get healthy, you'll see us playing more bump-run.

So that must mean Wade doesn't think we can play that type of game.
