I see what all of you are saying, so here is a possible solution.

Randall Godfrey is an UFA. He's 33 years old and has played for Phillips the last 3 years. He had a total of 7 sacks under Phillips, 4 this past season. He's also a former Cowboy. How about signing him to a minimum and letting him help the LBs understand what Phillips is going to do with them. He could be a solid backup and possibly starter given some of the LBs we have on the team.

Godfrey is a heck of player and I would not be shocked if Wade brought him along, but it will take more than the minimum and he only has a few more good seasons left. He's even talked about retiring for a few seasons now.

1 bad year doesn't qualify cutting a player, remember, Bradie is still young

He's played made 12 solid games in 4 years and completely fell apart once he got his $$$.

He had teammates calling him out for talking but not backing it up.

He has never shown the ability to make plays behind the LOS, or get to the QB, and has ranged from average to down right terrible in coverage.

We have the cap room, if he doesn't get it together I wouldn't bet against him getting cut or traded, especially if we move Carpenter or Burnett inside.
