Granted hindsight is 20/20, you wouldn't want Santonio Holmes or Addai? I figured those were no brainers.

I don't like Holmes. He's, at best, a #2 WR. IMO, more of a 3rd WR. He's been solid this year, but I think he's more a product of that great running game opening up the play action pass.

Now, I will say those would be solid options other then Carp, but neither would be starters in Dallas IMO.

Here's a newsflash...I begged to pick Santonio Holmes that year...but accepted the Carpenter pick as part of the LBing foundation that was needed in going with the 3-4.

Holmes did go to a place that was more mindful of his skills, and has excelled both in his rookie year with Hines Ward and this year with long stretches without him. He also does well in PRs, something we still lack.

Holmes would have almost never seen the field here in Dallas last year, with the exception of the punt returns. This year would have been a different story...actually, we'd be in a very strong position with or without Glenn, and the signing of Crayton wouldn't have been such an issue.

I'm still holding out the hope of a Carpenter sighting someday. While there seems to be alot of people holding Wade's one preseason game failure statement as proof positive...I'm betting these same people were saying Carpenter's one postseason game success was not enough to decide.

As for me...1 postseason performance > 1 preseason performance. But it in either case one game should not be THE determining factor of a player's ability, or lack of.

It wasn't long ago a substantial number of people wanted to run Bradie James out of here, and cut all ties with the whining Greg Ellis. While it's been our luck, and Carpenter's misfortune....James became a player, and Ellis seen the light and came back from what very well could have been a career ending injury and has played lights out.

No one could have seen these 2 things coming.

Given Carpenter's mindset(which was one of the things considered as his strength), he'll keep plugging away and do his best to force his way into the lineup...or, as always happens, a spot will open because of some unforseen reason and he'll step in and do a fine job.

I don't agree, but that's okay.

Sure, any back is going to be helped by having a balanced attack, but I think Addai is very good. He runs hard, he can catch, he's got good speed and ability to go with his effort, and he seems to do well against good teams. That's just what my eyes tell me, not what stats say.

No agenda here, as I never expected him to be that good... But I think he is.

Just because you think a player is a bust, doesn't mean that your agenda has to be considered anti-Dallas.

What are you talking about? I wasn't even discussing a Dallas player.

Yeah, but Foster Brooks was at least funny. So was Arthur.

This is just pathetic.

I just pity the guy. It must be horrible to be so clueless and unable to get out of the rut you've dug for yourself. It's like quicksand, the more he struggles the deeper he sinks. He just has to prove that he's smarter than all of us. The problem is, he's just not. Honestly, he should follow the advice of Abraham Lincoln.

"It is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

The doubt is gone for about 12,000 people. Sad.

No, he hasn't.

Nevermind. I read your post wrong. I thought you meant he hadn't started any games for the Chargers, when you meant he had not started any games before he made his first start.

Sorry

Pretty sure that's a Gabe Kaplan quote.

I'm not labeling Addai a bust.

The poster seemed to be afraid to state an agenda.

You are quite "humorous" in your constant criticism's.

You sound like someone else I know.
