You'd have everyone believe that Stanback is faster than Newman and Reeves...even faster than T.O.

Maybe the kid just has 4.5 speed.
You'd have everyone believe that eh actually ran a 4.58 and that you know it as a fact. The kid himself says he has no idea where that number came from because as a track man he has not run a 40 yard dash since High School.

Yeah, that's so much more intelligent.

Antonio Cromatie

Then again, you can't have enough LB's in BP's 3-4 Defense ... even if he can't play and sits on the bench. Gotta have plenty of LB's, even at the expense of other positions.

I don't believe Cromartie would start ahead of Newman or Henry. So if we had taken him people would be griping about that pick. Depth is a nice problem to have after 10 years of nothing.

Exactly.

The only reason Anthony Gonzales is getting significant looks is injury.

Cromartie doesn't start on his own team, even if his opportunistic INT numbers look great.

The Pats thought so much of Chad Jackson that they went and got Stallworth, Welker and Moss in the offseason.

Brandon Merriweather barely plays.

Anthony Spencer sees the field sparingly.

John McCargo has trouble getting PT because the Bills have talented DTs.

You can go on and on with good teams - their high round draft picks don't get on the field much for a few years. They are depth - and the continued success of your team is predicated on developing that depth and continuing to replenish it via the draft. That's exactly what guys like Carpenter, Fasano, Watkins, Hatcher, Burnett, our young OL talent, etc do for us. Might be frustrating to not see them on the field, but it's certainly not a bad thing.

They would have gripped casue we picked a corner who had injury issues coming out of college.

He hasn't even been starting in San Diego all season.

Yes he has and he's going to the Pro Bowl.

I do understand, however, why we passed on him. He didn't play in his senior year because of an injury and many teams passed on him because of that.

I'd take Addai.

(And yes, it is funny how the legendary Cromartie only began starting in the middle of his second year despite SD having less-than-stellar corners.)

Addai's a product of the system. You could plug 50 different backs into Indy and they'd put up similar numbers. Heck, Keith's numbers are very similar and he was bagging groceries.

Plus look at the stunning decline in his production as Manning's passing attack has faltered.

So Brady's and Adele's positions are so complicatedly different that Carpenter can't be used in Adele's spot either? Come on...let's just face it...he stinks.

I don't believe Dallas has done a very good job of using Carp this season.

This is a very ambiguous statement. While, I have issue with many things you say, I'm willing to listen to your thoughts on Carpenter and how he has been used. Where exactly should he have played beyond ST? Who should he have replaced on the defense. Bradie James or Akin in the middle? Obviously, not Ware and Ellis on the outside. The only place I could even imagine him going would be in place of Burnett, but he doesn't have the coverage skills of Burnett and Burnett has an edge at pass rush also.

Why in the world you would want to see a WR/QB who only runs a 4.58 is beyond me......

Man I swear if you didn't have a sweet pic of J. Leman I'd be all over this post. Stanback does not run a 4.5 40.

JPM was being sarcastic towards Hostile; basically poking fun of eduncan and his agenda against Stanback...

Hostile understood this and made a comment about liking old, slow people (perhaps taking a slight jab at eduncan by referring to Henry.....or referring to himself ;) )

No one, other than perhaps eduncan, thinks Stanback is slow.

He ran track. And nearly qualified for nationals (?).

I don't agree, but that's okay.

Sure, any back is going to be helped by having a balanced attack, but I think Addai is very good. He runs hard, he can catch, he's got good speed and ability to go with his effort, and he seems to do well against good teams. That's just what my eyes tell me, not what stats say.

No agenda here, as I never expected him to be that good... But I think he is.

Just because you think a player is a bust, doesn't mean that your agenda has to be considered anti-Dallas.

What are you talking about? I wasn't even discussing a Dallas player.
