This defense is terrific, and he built it. We will have more youth in the line up next year and I think we will be better off for it. This is becoming a top unit in the league, almost as dominant as Pittsburgh or Baltimore's, easily as good as NYG's or Minnesota's. The D is playing unconscious football right now and that is ALL Wade. OUTSTANDING JOB!

I agree. I know he may not be the best head coach, but we all know that he is not going to be demoted to defensive cordinator to be able to bring in a new head coach.

It also doesn't hurt that Roy W. isn't in the secondary. I don't think anyone sees the value in bringing him back anymore...

The young corners and the shored up SS spot is really starting to shine.

Parcells drafted several of the players we have on defense, but he never got the performance out of them. Wade has our defense playing where it should be. I am just thinking that if next year we can add one more key player to the defense whether it be in free agency or the draft our defense could be like that great Ravens or legendary Bears defense. Wade needs to be coach here, if he gets the ax, it will be a huge mistake.

It is the depth I worry about behind the starters - don't like the thoughts of Burnett, Carp, Polk or Rogers being called to regular duty. Burnett is good but is fragile and I don't know if he can take the pounding as an everydown LB.

I don't think SD was that bad in 2007, but I would agree that they were quite a bit better in 2006.

Wade isn't going to coach forever, but if he can get the system established and ingrained and groom his successor, then maybe it'll continue after he leaves. Wasn't he quite fond of his LB coach in SD?

Just got back from the game (my first). WOW.

Most fun I've ever had watching football. The defense was amazing, and the crowd was feeding off them like I've never seen before. Wade earned his paycheck tonight. And certainly has ever since he has taken over. This defense is FINALLY what we thought it could be. There are giving offenses absolutely nothing.
