I'd be okay with Manziel. Sure, he has big question marks, but ALL QBs are crapshoots anyway when you draft them. JF has a shot to be great IMO. Wouldn't mind us being the team to take that gamble. We are already gambling on a Tony Romo whose body has been broken many times and is getting pretty old.

People would get all upset because we need defense, but does that really matter anyway at this particular time. Will a couple good defenders make us contenders this year or even next. I don't think so.

Getting a franchise QB when you can is the most important part of it all. Got to do it when you can. I think many here just don't think JF is a franchise QB. I think he has a good shot to be one myself.

Has a top QB ever had a bad workout? I always chuckle when they say how accurate a QB was in their workout throwing to guys in shorts against no defense.

Mayock: Manziel arm strength on par with Bortles, might be better. Better than Bridgewater. Confirming tape.
If true this confirms my suspension that many on these boards who were saying he had a weak arm have no idea what a strong arm looks like and was only saying that because he's a smaller QB......

Plenty of QB struggle to be accurate, even in practice.....

Cam Newton did the same thing Johhny did in a better conference and won a national championship. Had the size all teams look for in a QB but got considerably less media adoration. Hmmmm....

Things start going bad for Cam and he starts sulking, things go bad for Johnny and he rallies the team. I'd take Manziel over Newton all day

The weak arm allegations are due to the frequency with which he would just heave the ball up for anyone to get

They did not do the same thing. Manziel destroyed his record despite playing one fewer game.

I watched and he looked great but my concerns still remain. He is small fragile and is too quick to leave the pocket. That will get him killed in the NFL.

As Polian and other "experts" have said.......... it's very rare you can coach a kid's DNA out of him. And Manziel's DNA says at the first sign of trouble, scramble around and try to make a play with your legs or heave up the ball somewhere.

I think they all three have ok, but not great arms. Maybe NFL average...or slightly higher at best.

I can't recall in recent years having a more intriguing prospect than Manziel. That guy is so fun to watch.
But I just don't have a real feel for how he'll be at the next level. I feel certain he'll not totally bust, just don't know if he'll be a franchise guy.
Can't wait to see how his career unfolds.

Sounds like his pro day went real well.

He took all of his snaps under center just to show he had that under control too.
They said very quick release to go with the quick feet in 3,5,7 step drops.
He does have a fairly low release point, so magnifies his short statue in a bad way.
But overall, it sounded good.
