Very intrigued by this development.

I'm in the minority of supporting either Bridgewater or Manziell at 16.

Long term, if we could get a franchise QB we are better off than possibly picking a scheme specific player for a scheme that is certain to be replaced during the annual coaching sacrifice

Add me to this list,I am very wary about Romos back.

I'd take him at 16 then move him in a Eli Manning style deal within the hour.

Someone's gotta be catching those passes. My guess is they are more interested in Evans. Afterall, you don't rebuild with Romo.

Add me to that Minority. This team is getting a lot younger with only Romo and Witten still to go. getting Manziel and letting him ride the pine for a season would be a great development as far as I am concerned. They have a potential Witten replacement in house already and it is time to consider one for Romo as well.

I don't have an issue with taking a QB to get ready to hand of to when Romo's time is up.

But Manziel isn't that guy. Too many questions, red flags, etc. that mitigate his talents. With the problems you have on D, blowing a first round pick (or even worse trading up to grab him) would be questionable IMO.

I don't know if these red flags are enough to deter me. The Cowboys clearly need a shot in the arm. This team has been incredibly boring and stagnant since Romo's first season.

Frankly, I'm tired of going after the RKG. This is a young mans league and were stuck in the 90s. I'm not scared of a guy with attitude so long as he leads his team to victory on the field and doesn't get arrested off of it.

And let's be honest, we are not going to fix what ails this team with a 1st round DT. There are so many issues that using a first rounder on a QB isn't going to significantly delay the rebuilding process

Shot in the arm? What good is that initial shot in the arm when the QB turns out to be too small, too fragile, too reckless to play in the league like some feel Manziel is? How's the shot in the arm working out then?

I'd rather be boring and make smart choices, then go risky just to generate some excitement that will be shortlived when the guy craps out.

He's the biggest risk in the draft IMO given where he's being talked about being taken. No thanks. I have no problem with taking a QB early. Just not him.

Manziel would bring the wrong kinda media coverage to dallas and they don't need that

in camp there would be a title "How long before Manziel starts over Tony?" Not to mention how Berman and the ESPN idiots would run with it on draft day

That's fair. Completely understand that line of thought.

However, I feel that being boring and making 'smart' choices is something this franchise has attempted and it has gotten us nowhere. As a philosophy, I agree. In practicality, it doesn't work for us.

By shot in the arm, I mean altering our philosophy from conservative to aggressive--which entails taking big risks and gambling on greatness. I am tired of this team playing it safe and playing not to lose. We haven't been competitive since we took a risk in TO
