Couple things about this situation...

Do we keep a cheater around after the suspension? Not that I care personally, but I have seen more than a few players get cut after serving their suspension. Wade dealt with Merriman last year and is probably not happy.

I also wonder if their is an affect on the team? Obviously the sky isnt falling. He doesnt play. etc.

But I think he will be missed to start the season. I was hoping he'd become
a Romo caddy the way Mariucci and then Gruden were for Farve. A lot of people went into building Farve into a star and I hope Wade W. and Red can do the same. We are still installing a new O. The beginning of the season is crucial.

I can't see any positives, but what are the negs?

I don't even care about a qb coach using drugs, as a matter of fact he could shoot up on the sideline and so long as romo is playing well I could give a flip.

Honesty, I feel the same way. He got caught. Thats the only difference between him and 1/2 the league. BTW- I dont think they were for him.

But, I am referring to any impact on the field, etc....

He embarrassed himself but because he is close to Jones he may be forgiven if he asks sincerely to be.

Just like Irvin before him, except he won't be on the field, but he is an ambassador to the team all the same.

he won't be around to turn romo into another grossman

Is that good or bad? :D

I am sure we all think Rex is a bum. However, they coached him up enough to make a SB run! I'll take that for Romo.

So, did he get these last year with the Bears, and was he still using them currently? For me, and watching the tape of NFL veterans that can barely walk they can take whatever they want if it helps them get through the day.

Its my understanding it was with the Bears.

I am not so clear on the whole thing. He said he bought them over the web for diabetes.

Nobody needs to surf on a computer long to find a medical Web site to support Wilson's notion that drugs such as human growth hormone are marketed to "counter diabetes by normalizing sugar metabolism gradually."

But with all the access he had to Dr's u have to wonder why he didnt do it legally.

A SB run might be good enough for the Bears but we have our standard set a little higher.

Yeah, those Bears have no history of Ws! ;)

Of course, the intent is to get there and win. Point was he was coached pretty darn well for a bum. You would think Wade W has more to work with in Romo.

He has said he bought it to try and stabilize his diabetes. The Cowboys have said they believe him. At 48 years old he wasn't buying it to gain a physical edge. He'll be around.

No, my thoughts were he was buying them for someone else.
Another quote of his said he didnt think was was held to the same rules.
So, he mutsa thought he could get away with it. If there wasnt a hint of shadiness he coulda gone to any Dr I would imagine. Total speculation on my part.

Any impact on the team?

He wasn't buying them for someone else. he admitted he bought them to try and stabilize diabetes.

Yes, there is already an impact on the team. He is suspended for 5 games.

The team has already said they believe him and will stand behind him.

I live near the Mexico border. People I know drive down to Mexico all the time to get prescription drugs because they are so much cheaper. One of the most successful SPAM operations on the Internet is prescription medication or medications. Stuff that if you go to a Doctor costs you twice. Once for the Doctor's visit and once to fill the prescription.

You're telling me he might not have been trying to save money?

:lmao2:

Okay.

:wink2:

Go on with your bad self.

But the league acknowledged "the evidence supports [Wilson's] statement to our office that he did so for personal use only, did not distribute any prohibited substances to other people, and has ceased to use these substances."

Wilson also brings up a good point. If he was buying something he knew to be illegal, why would he put it on his very traceable American Express card?

LOL! Nice back story. He did not say he bought them to save money. Besides being a wealthy 18 year NFL player and now a well paid coach! Risk it all to save a few bucks? LOL! If nothing else he is one dumb SoB!

But instead of going down the hallway to seek a professional opinion from a Bears team doctor or trainer, or even go see his personal physician, Wilson decided to experiment with a drug he discovered on the Internet. It promised to combat some of the symptoms that were making his life harder. He didn't tell a soul except for his fiance.

When folks due turn to obtaining discounts drugs its after they are recommended for that condition. They, in most cases, dont evaluate, diagnose and prescribe their own treatment. I am sure it happens. There was no reason for it to happen in this case.

In addition, it depends on the medication. Meds that are clearly being taken illegally for getting high or getting buff charge a premium, they dont discount. They are more expensive in many cases. If you ask me how I know I will deny it.

I know people who drive to Mexico to obtain illegal drugs for inappropriate use too.
