So, now we know Wilson only used HGH for very short period and to improve his quality of life while he was just a coach, not a player who was seeking on-field advantage, why did Wilson get 5 year suspension and Rodney Harrison only got 4 game suspension? Doesn't make sense and doesn't seem fair, imo.
Also, that doctor who issued a prescription to Wilson without seeing him, shouldn't he be held accountable for issuing a prescription of a federally regulated substance without seeing the patient?
Wilson got a 5 game suspension, not a 5 year suspension. Also, we don't know that he only used it for a short time personally - we know he CLAIMS that he only used it for a short time personally. We know the league can't test for HGH. We know Wade was working very closely with NFL players and works for the NFL himself. We know that the league doesn't want people asking the very obvious question about who Wade was getting the drug for. Because people have actually been known to lie about things like that. So the fact that he got the drug that's banned but can't be tested for, bought it illegally and then... well, we don't really know what happened then, only what Wade says. But in any event that looks bad for the league, which is why he got suspended. Had he sought legitimate medical treatment for his condition he would not have been suspended. Instead he broke the law, broke the rules of the league, and got caught. Nobody will ever be able to prove what he did with the drug after he received it, and frankly that's part of his problem. Because it casts doubt, and the league doesn't want it to appear that they are allowing anyone to cheat or circumvent the rules. They don't even want a HINT of that. So he received a harsh punishment.
As an aside, he would have had an extremely hard time getting a legitimate doctor to prescribe it for him, had he even tried. Because there is at least as much documentation claiming that it makes diabetes worse, or in fact causes diabetic symptoms, as there is to suggest that it will help OLDER diabetics - which is all the studies have shown, older diabetics with increased body fat have shown some improvement receiving hgh, probably because of the ensuing fat loss associated with it. There is, as far as I know, nothing to indicate that it would help someone like Wade Wilson. What he had to go by was the word of some fake online 'anti-aging clinic', which he chose to trust instead of a legitimate doctor. So if he was buying it for himself he was being very stupid and playing a very dangerous game. He should consider himself lucky at this point because he didn't damage his health.
Some links that Wade could surely have found with 5 minutes of searching, as I did:

One more point, the doctor was held accountable. I believe the doctors were caught first and used in the sting operation. One thing to realize is that it's possible that Wade didn't really think about the legality of getting such a prescription from a doctor who never saw him. Anyone who wants to order online drugs can do so by getting a 'prescription' online, which is technically illegal, but done every day by thousands of people. In his case it was incredibly risky, but the act of getting such a 'prescription' is common and probably not even considered in terms of legality by the people who do it. My wife ordered xanax online, I suppose her prescription was illegal as well. But there are thousands of sites offering such prescriptions to anyone who wants one.
