Was there a team or fanbase utterly crushed by us taking Elliott?

You often here how there was that one team/fan base that is literally crushed that they missed out on that one elite player.

We took arguably the best RB since Adrian Peterson to run behind our mammoth O-line. You gotta admit, it was not only a sexy pick, but a homerun. Colin Cowherd even said as much.

So, besides the Ravens who were wanting to move up to grab him, was there anyone else praying to the football gods that he'd be there and are now weeping and curled into a fetal position?

Again, it's really unclear, despite what Jerry said, that the Ravens wanted him at 4. They have also been said to have wanted Ramsey and that makes sense since Jax wanted and did take Ramsey at 5. Baltimore knew they had to jump Jax to get him. If they wanted Elliott so badly and knew we wanted him too, they would have tried to work out a deal with San Diego. They didn't.

Sorry Jerry, but your story doesn't add up.

Same could have been said for Ramsey.

I sense interweb sarcasm.

It does bring up an interesting point. I would have hated seeing him on the Giants, and sources say they liked him. Would have been brutal having him run all over us twice a year. Avoiding that alternate reality has to be worth something. Not sure how much.

Zeke is not even the best RB prospect in the last two years.

Gurley went top 10 coming off a brutal knee injury that had him miss almost a 3rd of the upcoming season.

Hey Fletch...are we not counting those in the Cowboys fan base that are sick to their stomach?

Did not want to take him at 4 but that ship has sailed so now I look at this kid, I see a guy who is 6'01" 225 that has very good speed and shows great vision and balance. My hope is he will thrive behind this OL and make big plays for the Cowboys and help control the ball on offense. I'm just not much of a crier or pouter, he is not the guy I was looking at selecting but I think he is a very good player who was views as a top prospect in this draft so all I can say is welcome to the Cowboys Zeke I am behind you and pulling for you.

If the Ravens wanted Ramsey so bad, they could have traded SD. We were linked to both Ramsey and Elliott. They were probably 1a) and 1b) for us. The point is, the Ravens wouldn't have known if we would have picked Ramsey or not and took a big chance.

Either Jerry is telling the truth about the Ravens wanting Elliott or he was so uncertain about trading the pick and not being able to get Elliott later. I don't see why'd he lie about it.
