Was there a team or fanbase utterly crushed by us taking Elliott?

Every team that we run for 150+ every week this season. Dude's an every down player. He can be fresh legs, or do it by committee. Either way, dangerous player that you have to account for on top of Dez.

I think the Ravens actually wanted him. I also think the entire league is shuttering at thought of EE behind the Dallas o-line. Meaning, if they didn't covet him themselves, they definitely wished he'd end up somewhere other than here.

I bet if you Ask GM's across the league on their opinion on us drafting Zeke. Pitt, Car, GB, NE, Seattle, Den would say typical Cowboys. Sizzle over substance..

That's your problem, you're too worried about what other people think. And pretty sure that establishing a soul-sucking, back-breaking running game is about as substantive as it gets. When defensive players are dragging themselves off the field after dealing with 60 minutes of this running game, ask them if they feel our offense is more sizzle or substance. LOL.

I think all this posters with these pronouncements of Zekes career trajectory need to step back and let the kid play his first game.

The season rests on how many games Romo plays. For the record I would not have picked Elliott but his ability to pick up the blitz alone or quickly take the ball out of Romo's hands may give Romo a chance to make it through the season unscathed. TBH this is a year I really wish they didnt have the number 4 pick. Usually there is an obvious pass rusher or shut down play making DB to pick which I believe in the long run would have been the better option. However that player didnt exist this year, so draft your board, which they did.

I do not care if Gurly is better than Elliot. I do not care about the perceived value either. The pick has been made. All I care about is Zek kicking butt for the Boys. I never cared when people said Sanders was the better runner than Smith.

Read the reports. Gurley's bottom line comes down to his injury history....which effected his grade.

When healthy they were viewed as different type prospects. People were putting Gurley in the AD tier. People have explicitly not put Zeke there.

There are different types of prototype backs.

Gurley is of the AP, Jackson mold.

Zeke is of the Faulk, Craig, Sayers mold.

There is also a Martin, Emmitt mold and a Bettis, Campbell mold.

If they use Zeke like they used Dunbar flaring him out and running routes then he could be a dynamic playmaker in the passing game too. He is a very good blocker so Imagine having him stack on Dez and having them block for each other on smoke screens. He can flex out and crash down on those jet sweeps for Lucky or run them himself.

Curl, in, out, and slant he can polish his technique but he can be a threat downfield too matched up against LBers on the pass.

On the run, the stretch and counter will be back with a vengeance. I like him on those pitches outside where we pull guys and move the los. He has a ton of experience reading those inside zones.

I would've preferred Bosa or Ramsey but Zeke will help the offense a lot and he is by far the most skilled and talented offensive skill position player in this draft.

The Clowney's and Peterson's of the world are not usually available.

I was crushed by us drafting Zeke but my mind can be changed if he proves himself. I just hope the rest of the draft goes better.

I think Gurley is a better pure runner ..... but I think Zeke is a better Football player.

All around.

Emmitt > Sanders.

Sanders, better pure runner (quitter). Emmitt, better all around. Sounds all too familiar.

You often here how there was that one team/fan base that is literally crushed that they missed out on that one elite player.

We took arguably the best RB since Adrian Peterson to run behind our mammoth O-line. You gotta admit, it was not only a sexy pick, but a homerun. Colin Cowherd even said as much.

So, besides the Ravens who were wanting to move up to grab him, was there anyone else praying to the football gods that he'd be there and are now weeping and curled into a fetal position?

I hope lot of teams in the fetal position !!!!!
