Read the reports. Gurley's bottom line comes down to his injury history....which effected his grade.
When healthy they were viewed as different type prospects. People were putting Gurley in the AD tier. People have explicitly not put Zeke there.
There are different types of prototype backs.
Gurley is of the AP, Jackson mold.
Zeke is of the Faulk, Craig, Sayers mold.
There is also a Martin, Emmitt mold and a Bettis, Campbell mold.
If they use Zeke like they used Dunbar flaring him out and running routes then he could be a dynamic playmaker in the passing game too. He is a very good blocker so Imagine having him stack on Dez and having them block for each other on smoke screens. He can flex out and crash down on those jet sweeps for Lucky or run them himself.
Curl, in, out, and slant he can polish his technique but he can be a threat downfield too matched up against LBers on the pass.
On the run, the stretch and counter will be back with a vengeance. I like him on those pitches outside where we pull guys and move the los. He has a ton of experience reading those inside zones.
I would've preferred Bosa or Ramsey but Zeke will help the offense a lot and he is by far the most skilled and talented offensive skill position player in this draft.
