Was there a team or fanbase utterly crushed by us taking Elliott?

Does not fit your agenda you mean.

No it doesn't add up.

If the Ravens were hot and bothered to get Elliott and pretty much everyone knew we were going Elliott at 4 given how it started to leak before San Diego even picked, they would have made a move for San Diego's pick. But they didn't. Why? Because they didn't want Elliott. They wanted Ramsey and figured we might be willing to move because we could still get Elliott at 6 and the Ravens could box Jax out at 5 who wanted Ramsey.

Again, if the Ravens wanted Elliott so badly and they knew we wanted him so badly, why not talk with San Diego?

Did not want to take him at 4 but that ship has sailed so now I look at this kid, I see a guy who is 6'01" 225 that has very good speed and shows great vision and balance. My hope is he will thrive behind this OL and make big plays for the Cowboys and help control the ball on offense. I'm just not much of a crier or pouter, he is not the guy I was looking at selecting but I think he is a very good player who was views as a top prospect in this draft so all I can say is welcome to the Cowboys Zeke I am behind you and pulling for you.

Seconded. Wanted Ramsey/trade down. We missed out on Karl Joseph (my trade back pick) either way so feel better about Elliott in the 1st. Usually part of the anti RB in the 1st group, but now he's part of the squad and ready for him to kick some ace. We just have to go DL in the 2nd; Spence, Ogbah, Dodd and avoid Cook/Hack as our consolation prizes for missing out on the good QBs who went 1 and 2.

You often here how there was that one team/fan base that is literally crushed that they missed out on that one elite player.

We took arguably the best RB since Adrian Peterson to run behind our mammoth O-line. You gotta admit, it was not only a sexy pick, but a homerun. Colin Cowherd even said as much.

So, besides the Ravens who were wanting to move up to grab him, was there anyone else praying to the football gods that he'd be there and are now weeping and curled into a fetal position?

I can tell you one team that was jumping for joy when we picked him. Jacksonville because they got Ramsey.

how do you know they didn't? Did you watch San Diego's press conference .....

Ridiculous statements because you want it to be true.

I know plenty of Eagles fans that are not happy about it.

Eagles fans were talking about Elliot almost as much as they are talking about Wentz.

As one Eagle fan said:
" it's like leaving an awesome party with a hot chick (Drafting Wentz) and then getting pulled over as soon as you leave (Us drafting Elliott)"

Zeke is not even the best RB prospect in the last two years.

Gurley went top 10 coming off a brutal knee injury that had him miss almost a 3rd of the upcoming season.

Haha.....So he had a brutal knee injury and was still take in the top 10? I'm sure glad we didn't take him then. I can only imagine what your comments would have been if we had taken that risk! So you didn't like the Zeke pick? TOOOOO BAD! Cry me a river! Many people loved it. Including ME! :)

The Eagles fans on Reddit are all laughing and making fun of us, but they're really dying on the inside.

The best reactions were from the Giants' reddit when they drafted Apple. I hope the pitchfork stores in NY had plenty in stock.

Gurley's grade was based on his knee I believe. If he were healthy, his grade likely would have been higher.

Gurley is the better RB. Gurley is that special kind of RB like AP or Lynch. Zeke is good but not on the same level. Fournette and Cook coming out next year could potentially be on the AP level as well. I hope Zeke proves me wrong. Although I do think he is going to be VERY good. But just not God like good

I'm thrilled to have a RB like Zeke, hopefully for years to come, but I still have this sinking feeling that we keep putting the cart before the horse. I really felt that we needed to get a QB this year that had potential to be a franchise QB. I just don't see that happening this year.....AGAIN

oh good god - everything is always a "we knew who they were going to take!!!" crap when truth be told, bosa to SD was a surprise. period.

at this point you and your hate for the pick are just making crap up to you can keep your hate-on going strong.

You know, just because you say that doesn't make it true. Watch...

...Zeke is the best RB prospect in the last ten years. Sheesh, now we've got a real quandary on our hands, huh?

Plenty of evaluators disagree with you RE: Elliott not being as good as Gurley or Fournette.

The only fear I hear from other fans is *if* he turns into another Emmitt. That's rather optimistic.
