Wanted them to draft Danielle Hunter last year. He had 6 sacks as a rookie & has 7.5 so far this season. Of course, the Vikes have other good pass rushers that take some pressure off...but still think he'd be doing well here in Marinelli's scheme. He has prototypical size/athleticism, and a good head on his shoulders. They did like Hunter, and he was among their official visits. But they obviously elected to go Gregory in the 2nd, with Hunter lasting until the later 3rd.

Was also among those that wanted them to go after Jabaal Sheard. He had 8 sacks last season, but has been hurt some this year & has 3.5 so far, which would still tie him for the team lead with Tyrone Crawford.

The Cowboys have invested some recent resources in the DL...drafting Lawrence (2nd & 3rd), Gregory (2nd), Collins (3rd), Tapper (4th), etc. Unfortunately, some of these guys have disappointed in one way or another, have been injured, etc.

Frank Clark drafted 3 spots after Gregory, but we were getting a lot of flack from signing Hardy

I think we'll see Crawford rotate with Collins at 3T, while Thornton and another player (McClain, assuming he doesn't get paid elsewhere?) rotate at 1T. That leaves Lawrence at one of the DE spots, and most likely a high draft pick at the other. The other guys on the roster can compete for those rotational DE roles.
