I think the answer has to be no.

I was just watching a few clips of him on NFL Channel and honestly, he's just the smoothest, prettiest runner I've ever seen. He just glides.

Man, I feel pretty lucky to have been able to watch him play.

Tony D was just a great, great player.

Dorsett was awesome to watch run. He was smooth and fast, great vision and stronger than people thought.

We are blessed to have had some of the greatest RBs of all time playing for our team.

I'm with you!! Watching him run was a thing of beauty.

I never saw Dorsett run but I think I can think of a couple.

MArshal faulk:bow: That guy was awsome. I remember that stop and go He did!..Wow.

Barry Sanders was amazing aswell...But I like Faulk because He was the total package.

I remember my dad saying people questioned Dorsett's toughness back in the day and he did was become one of the all time greats, so I'd caution people questioning whether McFadden will ever be a great running back. McFadden reminds me of a combo of Tony Dorsett and Eric Dickerson, now that's a frightening thought!

No, neither of those guys, IMO, were prettier runners. Certainly, they were exciting to watch but Dorsett was just a thing of beauty to watch. I don't know how to explain it. It's like when you see a beautiful women or a piece of art that just makes you stand back in awe. Don't get me wrong, both Faulk and Sanders were great players. Perhaps even better then TD but neither were prettier runners.

I probably can't explaing it to you. It's just something you have to see.

I agree ABQ...

I've never seen a smoother runner. He didn't have the wiggle of Barry Sanders or the vision of Emmitt but my God, once he got through the LOS, his ability to glide and then shift gears was a thing of beauty.

He might have ran the screen better than any RB I've ever seen.

Somebody needs to make a Highlight video of TD in good quality so the younger GEn can see how smooth He really was.

The only Vid I've seen of Him is like a tribute to the Cowboys RB's and it only shows acouple clips of HIim. He did look amazing in those clips though.

I think Gale Sayers before him had a smooth, gliding, nuance style much the same as TD. And speed of course.

If smooth is a criteria, Eric Dickerson HAS to be in this conversation. That guy was effortless when running with the ball...

Eric Dickerson had a cool upright running style. He was balanced, strong and had great vision.

His cutting ability was out of this world and he knew how to apply the stiff arm like our Barbarian.

I'm a die hard Cowboys fan but I think that award might honestly go to Erick Dickerson. Man he was smooth.

Dorsett was definitely a favorite of mine. Of course I may be biased having grown up during that era.

Are you sure?

He was fairly small too, around 185 or so. even back then that was small for a full time RB.

i use to love watching MR.Smith run

Same here.

There was nothing better than watching Emmitt scan the field before a play and then looking like art in motion after the snap.

You could just see the crazy vision he had while he was running.

Yeah, that was what i was going to say too. Eric ran really smooth, made me think of a gazelle. He was just a taller version of TD, and a little tougher. As much as I have loved TD, and Emitt, I would probably choose Eric over all the running backs that I have ever watched, by just a hair. I think. lol

I couldn't agree more. Every time we attempt to run a screen (which is very seldom) I say to my Daddy, "we haven't been able to run the screen since Tony Dorsett left". It's a fact. Landry could go for 20-40 yards w/ the screen to TD several times a game. Oh for the good ol' days...
