No.

My Dad didn’t have a favorite team…being from central NY. But he liked Don Shula as a coach.

I became a Cowboys fan watching SB V with him.

A great moment in time…

My dad liked the cowboys but was a huge packer fan.

I remember watching Leroy Kelly ( favorite player back then)and the browns play the cowboys I was a teen

I thought the cowboys were cool and the cheerleaders were hot and switched my allegiance to them and haven’t looked back

My dad didn’t have a favorite team but rooted for Detroit and Buffalo when I was a kid because of Barry and Thurman. He played baseball at O-State.

I distinctly remember him coming into my room at halftime of Super Bowl 28 and talking mad crap. My friends and I had a field day after the game.

No....my dad always told me the Cowboys Commanders and Dolphins were all super-annoying with obnoxious fans.

Yet...he didn't have a favorite team.

Oh well....to each his own.

My dad started following the Cowboys when my family moved to Texas in 1963. He became a diehard fan. Him watching Cowboys games every Sunday is how I got into watching them. The first time I saw my dad cry was after the Ice Bowl. In our den we had a dent in the wall with three knuckle prints in it after he slammed his fist into it immediately after Jim O’Brien kicked the game winner against the Cowboys in Super Bowl V. He took losses pretty hard.

So my dad was a giant fan but I remember watching the Giants play the Cowboys in 1962-63 and I liked the team with the star. My son became a Cowboy fan because of me. Your story?
My father got me interested in sports at a young age through gambling. We'd bet a buck or 2 on games to get me to watch. So, in 1975 I was to pick the team I wanted in the SB based on my wins in the playoffs. I picked the Steelers but he said oh no, the Steelers are my team. I told him that I hoped the Cowboys win. Ever since then I was a Cowboys fan out of spite. Then they just stuck.

My dad is a huge Cornhuskers fan, but has never had a pro team he follows so I didn’t get it from him.

My Grandmother on my mom’s side was a huge Cowboys fan since Troy grew up in the same town they lived in in Oklahoma.

Troy even came into the Sears store they owned with his mother all the time when he was a kid.

She gave me a special edition Sports Illustrated Troy Aikman Hall of Fame induction magazine when I was a kid. The magazine had pages and pages of stories about Cowboys greats and the history of the franchise. I read the whole thing so many times I lost count, but from there it was all Cowboys all the time.

Once the Cowboys established a team in Dallas he was. And influenced me greatly. It wasn’t difficult being a local fan.

But before Dallas had a team, Dad was in the Navy after graduating Baylor and became an officer in Annapolis, MD. And he was a Unitas and Baltimore fan.

His Navy connection also influenced his support of Staubach who we met in his Rookie season,

My birth father is a ravenous Giants fan, born in NYC. But he lived in Dallas in and worked freelance for the Cowboys when I born. He tried to make me a Giants fan, sometimes forcefully, but it's kind of hard to do that to your kid when he's literally raised with the team coming over to play on your Atari system.

I hate the Giants with a special passion.

My Step Dad raised me and was a huge Chiefs fan. Sadly didn't live to see them back in the SB, I would've loved that for him.

No. He worked 2 jobs and didn't have the time unfortunately.

He did make it to all my high school football games though and some of my baseball games.

Go Cowboys!

Why just ask about Dads? Why not ask about Moms? Or those who identify as Dadmoms?

Such a misogynistic and bigoted group here…..

Growing up in Ohio, my dad was not a big sports fan. He liked sports and we played ball, he encouraged us to play ball.
I had 3 older brothers and all of us were into sports. Our dad took us to watch the Reds 2 to 4 times a year.

He would sit and watch games with us at times, but not all the time. There was always things to work on around the house, so he really did not have time to watch unless at night.

Born and raised in Dallas. Current Season ticket holder for 15 years. My dad was born in Ft Worth. I grew up watching the Cowboys w my dad and grandfather, both huge fans. Born in 80 so I was fully on board for the glory years…. Still remember watching the turkey day debacle w my dad and grandpa where Leon Lett acted like a moron and tried to recover the ball. My entire family are Cowboys fans. Only option.

No my father didn’t really follow football. However he was the reason I chose them as my favorite team. While stationed in Germany, I was born. This was in the 70’s. The Cowboys were Americas team and I was an American citizen born abroad.
