My Dad was 50 the day I was born. He didn't much like football. He was an avid Yankees fan and loved boxing. I remember taking him to see Hearns Hagler on closed Circuit at the local movie house.

As you can tell this was the 80's No PPV yet.

So my dad was a giant fan but I remember watching the Giants play the Cowboys in 1962-63 and I liked the team with the star. My son became a Cowboy fan because of me. Your story?
My Old Man is a Giants fan as well

My father was a life-long Cowboy fan. Some of my fondest memories as kid was watching the games with him.

Previously, I shared how, as a small boy, my father would tell to hand him the phone so he could call coach Landry about a play. I was so proud my father knew Landry :)

yes. My late father was a fan. Big time. He died in 2013 but he made me a fan when I was just 3 in 1973. That and Roger Staubach.

Same here. I sure miss him. He would call me win lose or draw and we'd talk for an hour about the big game. When we were a dynasty in the 90's it was wonderful.

My dad was born in Dallas and (I think) still lived there when the Cowboys first joined the NFL. So he was a huge fan from the time he was a ten-year-old boy and passed it along to all his kids. I always joke that it was more important to him that we grew up to be Cowboys fans than for us to be kind-hearted and well rounded human beings.

Yes, but not hardcore. Hes more of a Oklahoma Sooners fan. Being in Oklahoma, we get all the Cowboys games on Sundays so it was easy for me to become a fan at a young age.

Mine was an Oilers fan(now Seahawks) and had season tickets. I would only go to their games if Dallas was in town usually unless my friends wanted to go see someone else play them. He didn’t go to more than three games a season due to work. He was friends with Stabler and we went to his house in Bal Harbor a few times after the game…..even if we went to the game or not. That was one cool dude……

Not being a Cowboys fan is not an option in my family. That's just what you do and we all enjoy it.

I was a Cowboys fan before my father. He became a Cowboys fan because I was constantly watching their games. Prior to this, I believe he was a passive Packer fan.

Just before he passed away I watched a Cowboys game with him sitting on his hospital bed. The Cowboys defeated the Eagles and we both enjoyed it together..

Yep, bet his whole paycheck one week in the 70's on the Cowboys VS Redpeople and won. Been a fan since.

No, my dad is a 49ers fan. My grandpa was from Texas and a huge Cowboys fan though. He's the reason I like them.

...

Little Rock was a St. Louis market until the Cowboys came along and they began sharing and I shared my allegiance as well. They were my co-favorite teams until the Ice Bowl and I watched those guys battle on that field against all odds, few gave them a chance in those conditions but they won the heart of this fan that day and I never looked back. I was all in on the Cowboys.

....
.Lol, the same day I became a Packer fan for life. My Dad and Brothers were big Dallas Fans but I was a young teen and wanted to be different. The magic of the Packers and Bart Starr and epically winning the game on the QB sneak was magical. Dad and Brothers were fuming but I was giddy as could be. Then the next Christmas my parents gave me a copy of Jerry Kramers book "Instant Replay" and I read it in one afternoon. Packer Fan for life. I have been to Lambeau 4 times knowing the last time I went in 2021 would probably be the last.

My father was a die-hard Commanders fan, which made sense given we lived outside Washington DC. While we weren’t close, I treasure the times we watched the Skins-Cowboys games; seemingly the only time we could put our differences aside and enjoy the game together. I’m sure I broke his heart when I started rooting for the Cowboys.

My entire biological family is Skins Fans. Mother, Father, Brother, Sisters. My father had season tickets at RFK stadium dating back to the 70's, right up until he passed in '21. My brother has had lower bowl season tickets since the new stadium opened. Never went to a game with either of them...lol

I am definitely the black sheep in my biological family. I've been a Cowboys fan since the 70's.

My dad was born and raised in Kansas. He became a chiefs fan when the Texans relocated to KC and became the Chiefs. He hates the Cowboys. We lived in TX in the 70's, which is where my fandom was born.
