I'm confused with logic of this post.

Washington beat us.....with a guy who never started before.

Why? Because they haven't paid a QB 200 billion dollars like WE did, and they can afford to build a legit team. We can't.

If you pay ur QB 200 bil dollars, he BETTER be a top 5 type of guy, because he will need to CARRY ur team. Dak is a guy that win a SB on a very talented roster...but he isn't a Top5 type guy, or even top 10 type guy.

I think there may be a trend going forward: try to find a rookie QB that can run and make plays, on the cheap, and build a superstar roster around him.

Watch: if the Eagles pay Hurts a king's ransom, they will be in same boat as us. Though, I kinda wonder, if eagles might do what Ravens are considering: instead of mortgaging ur roster for 1 QB, trade him while his value is highest, get another rookie on cheap contract, using the #1 picks you get from the trade, and keep rest of the team elite.

For full disclosure, I'm not a Dak hater or apologist.

I believe that Dak is not elite but, he's also too good to easily replace.

Washington is the prime example of what I'm talking about. Their roster is full of very talented players.

In fact, other than QB, they might be the best roster in the division.

However, their QB situation is brutal. If, Dak played for the Commies, they would be going to the playoffs and maybe even vying for homefield advantage.

Bottom line, Dak gives us a chance to win and although he's not perfect, I'm happy on the last Sunday of the season, we aren't searching for a QB.

Go Cowboys!
this isn’t looking good right now.

What difference does it make if you don't win either way? Would you rather spend $40 mil on one QB who will never carry the team to the promised land, or journeymen who come cheap and either play just as well, or get you a higher draft pick? Or are we just going by how Jerry gauges the team--good enough for ratings?

Chances are that if we fail in the playoffs it will be because of Dak...don't need to look further than his brain fart in the 9ers game. That being said he is the best we have, and give the team credit they are trying to do their best to not have to have him be the focus of our end game goals
Even with all his mistakes, our soft defense has me more worried than the guy who has our offense as one of the top in the league.

Can't say never and the original poster did make some point. He has for all intents given us a chance better than the revolving door bs that so many teams go through weekly. Jets? Washington? Panthers? New Orleans? List goes on.

sooooo...the elephant in the room? I don't want to hate the guy, but seriously? Week in, week out we have this same conversation
The elephant in the room is the GM as I said in my initial post.
Dak hasn’t been here for 27 years.

I'd rather have a revolving door of rookies and at least acknowledge you need a QB.. rather than 'thinking' you have found an elite QB (which has NEVER been) and paying him 20% of the cap.. only for him to not produce on the field when it matters.

Our problem is that Dak has NEVER allowed a quality backup.. Dak has NEVER had to compete for his job.. FFS.. Romo wasn't even allowed to practise with the first string in case Dak lost his 'hot hand'.. really?!!! Sounded just as stupid then as it turned out to be.

SO Dak leads this pampered life with no competition.. Rush has shown that ANYONE could QB this team to multiple victories.. get that straight.. Rush is a bad QB.. like really he is not good.. he isn't even a high quality back up.. and he STILL could go 4-1 with this team. That is how EASY Dak has it. So those saying you don't get rid of a 12-5 QB.. ummm YES you do.. if you understand the game and watch Dak making the same mistakes over and over. Dak showed us who he was time and time again. He is just not elite.

And next year we lose even more talent to pay his stupid inflated wage.. and it will hurt us again and again. Dak is not a bust in the traditional sense of lingering new the bottom.. but he is not elite and never has been. Paying him crippled this franchise. There can be no doubt of that.

I wanted Howell and hated he went to Washington.

Now I will hope Dallas gets Drake Maye in a couple years.

Every player on Offense played very poorly, but it all starts with the Oline. The Oline couldn't open up any running lanes for our running backs. They struggled half the time to pass protect. They got manhandled by the Commodes Dline all game long.
