Watch out for Werder

He does sort of need to speak to the media though. He picked a weird time to not speak to the media for the first time as a starter on a Wednesday (except for 1 other time where he was injured), considering all the heat he's getting this week. Leaders ducking out on speaking to the media doesn't gain respect in locker rooms because guess who has to answer questions about the player who ducked out?

Big deal? No. Bad idea by Romo? No doubt in my mind...

Do you expect anything less from Werder?

Those mediots are the replica of TMZ

Its been happening for years....they can make or break a team or a player.

Fabricated stories......."our sources said".....etc...etc....

There is no accountability from them.....and when a player refuses to talk....it somehow gives those mediots a reason make something up....

We all know what their agenda's are.......its ratings....

Romo just needs to concern himself with his play. What Werder says is nothing but a side show intended for the viewers. If Romo wants to silence his critics go out and play up to his ability if he does that the talk ends.

Romo talking or not talking this week with the media is not going to make one single difference and everything that needed to be said was said at the post game press conference

If Marino played in Dallas, instead of Aikman, the Boys would have never won 3 SBs... Aikman sacrificed his stats to win games in the reg season, Marino ego was waaaay to big and never once did Marino complain!

Compare Aikmans playoff and reg. season #s during the SB runs... and tell me he didnt make a conscience effort to to sacrifice stats to win!

Noone is safe.

So wait, I should ignore Werder's 'Moustache Rides, $5' t-shirt, then? Because I've got like $10 burning a hole in my pocket and don't really have a good idea what else I'd spend it on.

honestly with our running game all we need is for romo to sit back and not make horrible mistakes. seriously we don't even need him to win games just not lose them. we easily beat the giants if he doesn't lose the game. he needs to play like favre.

whats funny is Ed Werder is what caused the TO hate here. Its funny, people may not have liked TO b/c of his past, but he decent to good in dallas, but when Werder made him out to have a problem with the beloved Witten, TO was a marked hated man.

Now dont get me wrong, I think witten was the only key component of the team last year that had nothing to do with its failure, but I think TO was right under him.

Injuries, backup qb, Romo, Garrett, Jerry, Phillips>TO/Witten

Werder embellished a story cause TO wouldnt talk to him.

Disagree. I think there was something there, but I think TO's being released had more to do with trying to get younger at the WR position.

He's 36 years old.

How low is Werder's IQ?

So, Dan Marino at some point decided, "ya know what ... I want to be a stat guy. I don't care about Super Bowls ... I just want to rack up big numbers."

And Troy said, "ya know, I want to win Super Bowls."

It's their surroundings ... the circumstances they were in. Marino and Aikman didn't call the plays. Marino had verticle receiving threats and very little behind him in the backfield. Troy had a big offensive line and Emmitt.

Werder should be hung from Jerry's video board by his sack.

Don't forget that super-soft AFC defense Marino had to deal with. The Killer B's? Yeah right, you were a bunch of killers alright -- you killed any chance Marino had of winning a SB.

Im not saying everyone loved him before he came, but he was supported and cheered. He was commended for how hard he worked. He was commended for his effort for blocking down field, but after the werder report, he had done nothing right since he had been here.

If it wasnt for werders report, TO would not have been such a hot topic in the off season, and if you say so, why, he wasnt any other season he had been here. If you dont think the Witten thing swayed peoples opinions or at least his acceptability in dallas you are kidding yourself.

Which is all good, especially if the team benefits, but eating 9 mil...would you eat 9 mil to get younger IF the older receiver was still your best receiver. TO was released to end "distraction." Now im not saying that TO was not a distraction, but it wasnt his fault this time....or let me say it was a case of past coming back to haunt you , and werder knew it.

You give way too much credit to Werder. I didn't need Werder to hate TO.

Before anyone gets exercised about "Why do people care what ESPN says!!!", don't bother, because I don't. I don't even watch ESPN anymore. This is just for fun.

But watch out for a pretty negative report from him on Romo tonight. Heard Easy Ed on the Irvin show at lunch complaining about Romo not speaking to the media today. He said he thinks Romo, as QB of America's Team, owes it to the media to speak during the week. He also said he has always told players that they don't have to speak if they don't want to, but if they don't, then he gets to give his opinion on the matter instead of fans hearing it directly from the player himself.

He then went on to say that Romo is at a crossroads in his career where he has to decide if he wants to be a Marino-like stat machine who never wins anything or a Troy Aikman-like winner who gets lesser stats but has team success.

Just calling it ahead of time. :D

So you don't think the face of the franchise, one who is known to be soft, should come out and talk to the local media the next week after stinking it up in the home opener against a division rival?

Keep blaming ESPN for all the woes.

Mr. Blue Suit, I've criticized Tony heavily after the G-Men game. But let's make this quite clear...Tony Romo along with any other Dallas Cowboys player doesn't owe you and the rest of the media jack squat.

He also said he has always told players that they don't have to speak if they don't want to, but if they don't, then he gets to give his opinion on the matter instead of fans hearing it directly from the player himself.

Like that has ever stopped you from interjecting your own opinion, quoting sketchy sources, and treating speculation as fact?

The freaking ego on some of these guys is ridiculous.

Lemme guess, come MNF Mr. Blue Suit will have some story about there being a riff in the Cowboys locker room and some of his sources wanting to see Jon Kitna play.

Romo did talk about his game in the post game presser. He doesn't owe anyting more to the media.

Nobody is blaming ESPN for the woes. We're blaming ESPN for garbage journalism and being a bunch of ho's and/or puppets. The only thing the players owe is to be the best player they can possibly be.

This is a GREAT post. Post of the year IMO.

Especially now that we are living that syndrome. Tony trying to do too much when there is a team around him.

I am all on board with Romo if he takes that route. The Aikman decision-making route(before and during the game).
