Yeah, because everyone who thinks this team has no chance is just dumb. .. nobody in the world outside of a handful of fans on this board Legitimately thinks this team team can win the sb this year .. . Why should they?

This team is plenty talented on offense to compete with anybody. I don't think they will win the Super Bowl or even make noise in the playoffs (unless the defense surprises) but they will compete for the East because of the overall weakness of the division.

The Cowboys can very well be a 6-10 team, or they can be an 11-5 team, it's just so unpredictable. It all begins to where our defense is. I trust Marinelli this year as the main guy. Kiffin was old and personally I wasn't never really happy about his signing, but Rod bringing in his guys, getting a chance to draft his own talent, plus a full year of working with hi schemes and his players can be very vital for the team.


Offensively we are still an above-average team. Romo's injury being in the last week of the season gives him enough chance to be healthy. Bryant, Murray, Witten, Smith, plus Williams and whoever we bring in should be an electric group that will score points, make no mistake about it.


The big question throughout the off-season, the draft, and camp will be the defense. That's why I feel it is important to sign Melton and another defender, preferably an End, maybe Spencer back? Then draft 70% defense whatever order necessary and go from there. Many things can happen, and I too believe we can win the division, but if the defense isn't solved, we may very well finish last.

Actually the Cowboys are entirely predictable.

Is the opposing team 500 or better?
If yes, expect the loss.

OP is merely saying there's a minute chance most teams can win it all in any given season, and that it'd be amusing if it were us after the several seasons of underperforming expectations. Our O line is actually young and getting better

Why is this team a mystery? The writing is on the wall...and is easy to see. Because of poor cap management....this team has had to let go of it's entire D-line. Ever since Parcells left...poor drafts have been constant. This is just a poorly managed team from all angles. And now everyone is hoping for a rebound. Good luck. Not a great plan pinning your hopes on an over paid/broken down QB. Not until a new head coach is hired....and allowed to put his staff together. (Not some jimmy-rigged Jerry concoction) will this team ever get on the right track.

It's only usual with you, visionary. And that's because I believe you have a hard time responding to the arguments that are actually made for whatever reason.

If we come out of the gate with an NFL-caliber defense (improve to somewhere around average), anything can happen. But, getting to the Super Bowl is on the high-end of unlikely. If we could somehow just get into the playoffs this season, I would be happy.
