Even if they get the #1 no way Jerry is picking a QB. You will see wheeler dealer Jones like you have never seen him if it ends up that way.
It would be interesting to see the draft haul we could get for him. I think at least you would get 3 first round picks plus for him.

If you are in the top 5 you should consider taking a quarterback, unless you have a proven elite one.

Hopefully, you're not going that high very often.

We should have done it last time, instead of taking a running back who would have a 5 or 6 year shelf life.

Oh please. We play in the NFCE. We will back into 7 wins which will be 4 more than what itd take to really have a shot.

Eh, probably not lol. That said we won't take Lawrence. We will trade down.

If we land Trevor Lawrence, its bye bye Dak. He's a more athletic version of Peyton Manning. No brainer. He'll be be cheap for 4-5 years so you can build around him.

So waste more top picks on offense with an abysmally bad defense? Let a qb who was about to break nfl records walk?

Dak is a franchise quarterback. People should understand that by now. If we are first overall, we should accept an absurd trade-up offer.

If the Jaguars or Jets end up ahead of us, maybe Lawrence pulls an Eli and demands not to play for them.

This thing needs to be burned to the ground. Dallas isn't going to be competitive for years.
- Fire MM and bring in a modern, intelligent coach.
- Let Dak go. Draft Lawrence or Fields and train them.
- Use the capspace to cut DLaw, Zeke and anyone else who needs it. Eat the cap hits next year.

The Cowboys would walk into 2022 with a cleaned house and could start building from there. Would have a ton of capspace, high draft picks, etc.

Whichever way we look at it we arent competing in the next 2/3 seasons. It wont matter which QB we have, it's pointless paying $40m per on a QB for the next 3 years.

Honestly, I know everyone is beating the “rookie contract franchise qb” table, but with high picks each round we can really flesh the team / D out with good cheap players to offset a Dak contract along with Lamb.

Save $40+ million, obtain draft picks by franchising and then trading Dak, and using those picks + cap savings to spread out across the entire team? Absolutely!

Still a ton of 1 win teams. Even if they did end up with the 1st overall pick I'm not sure Lawrence would be the pick with how much draft capital they would get.
