We are finally doing what we've been needing to do

Without Witten and Dez now the onus is on the offensive side of the ball to really change. With those two players the coaches actually believed that all they had to do was ‘line up”. With The various acquisitions this off season it appears this team MIGHT BE changing philosophy. At least that’s what it seems to me.

Romo was just last year. Bryant and Witten this year.

I’m sure that given their track record, you can understand my hesitancy.

But I hope you’re ultimately right.
Romo was almost untradeable. Everyone knew his injuries.

Bryant was untradeable due to salary.

Witten? Don't see why you'd have wanted to trade him, or if it was even worth it.

Thing is, they let Bryant walk. In the past they would've paid him.

They're going to have to line up up several single back- 4 receiver sets!

Your posts are heavily balanced on the negative side.
Absolutely. We've had some really knuckleheaded moves, so there's been a ton of negative lately. And we're still losing in the playoffs because we can't stop anyone. This team has been an up and down clusterfudge due to poor construction and questionable/odd draft picks. We MIGHT be climbing out of that horrid mess. Lights could be shining through the tunnel.

Now all we need to do is get a real coach

No "real" coach will consider the job in Dallas under the Jones family circus umbrella.
Last time we had a real coach (Tuna) i mean common dude was cashing in before retirement .....
Say Yes Jason and say it loudly!!!

Getting something for our players we were getting rid of anyway, and cutting players who are not producing or are underproducing.

Ward trade. Look, Switzer was not making this team. Period. We traded a player who was not making our team for a player who was not making their team. Will he work out? Don't know of course, but great move bringing him in to see. Nothing lost.

Tavon trade: We had a ton of draft picks. They simply were mostly not going to make the team. Why not dump a 6th for a guy who has major speed? Can his issues be resolved? Who knows, but we only spent a late draft pick on him. Great trade.

Dez: He wasn't producing, for whatever reason, and didn't fit. Doesn't matter why any more, it was time to dump the salary and move on. This beats the hades out of paying him for subpar production, which we've been guilty of several times in the past. Good move.

Tough moves have to be made for any NFL franchise, and it appears we may be on the way to making them.

Speed doesnt = good or productive. Tavon is not an upgrade over switz, plus he is getting to the age of fecline.

You haven’t been watching the games. Dallas was 13-3 and 9-7 the last 2 years. There’s plenty of positives. The fact you don’t see that gives reason for everyone to dismiss your posts because you obviously have an agenda. A hate agenda.

Training camp can't come soon enough smh

Is this a similar strategy the New England Patsies have employed for the last 15 or so years?

I'm being a bit rhetorical of course. Is the FO trying to have a similar strategy to NE? I say yes. The chink in the armor though is coaching and specifically head coaching (although I'm not enamored with the OC and DC either).

Why do people on this site constantly bring up the Patriots? You know why the Patriots are successful? They have Tom freakin’ Brady and a coach that knows how to use him.

It has nothing to do with the salary cap or when they trade players.

Having the greatest QB of all time paired with the greatest HC of all time while playing in one of the weakest divisions in football allows a FO to come across as genius but the fact is once they’re gone the Patriots go back to being irrelevant.

Switzer has done nothing In the league so far. So the truth is, we don’t know if Austin is an upgrade or not until we see him play with the cowboys. As of right now, Austin has accomplished more than Switzer.

Why is Tavon not an upgrade over Switz? Switz hasnt ever done anything. Austin is 28, hes probably got a couple years left in him.

For the record Im not certain your wrong, I just think Switz is an unknown commodity.

Obviously. However, don't miss the point that we got him for a 6th round pick. And he might be an upgrade over Switz.

And the fact that you're even saying this shows that you are incapable of any sort of reasoning. And people don't dismiss your posts, they don't even read them, except when a laugh is needed. You have the biggest agenda on this board, you hate the posters. You're just a sad little man, I feel much pity for you.

Oh, and I don't mind the personal attack. It most obviously makes you feel better about yourself, so have at it.

Switz is a better return man. Given time switz should average 2 or more return td's a year. Hopefully switz can learn not to fumble but austin is good for 3-5 fumbles a year. Austin also earned a spot on the bench he was so good.

Just a pattern I've seen - if you want to see which teams are going to suddenly improve and which ones are going to fall off, look at their drafts for the last 3 years. Even dominant teams like the early 2010s 49ers and the Seahawks will get old quick if they keep blowing their drafts, while teams like the Jaguars can stockpile talent quickly while flying under the radar.

Dallas looks like they swung and missed in the 2015 draft, but we got some franchise cornerstones in 2016 and I am optimistic about out 2017 class thus far. If 2018 turns out well, then we just might be building something.
